LOVELAND — An explosion and fire sent two people to the hospital and injured two others Saturday evening at the Rosebud Motel, 660 E. Eisenhower Blvd.

Fire officials at the scene said the two transported to a local hospital were awake and alert when they were taken.

In addition, a Loveland Fire Rescue Authority firefighter suffered minor neck injuries when debris landed on his head. The firefighter was treated and released by Thompson Valley Emergency Medical Services crews at the scene.

The fire was under control quickly, but the structural damage to two units closest to Monroe Avenue meant overhaul of the damage was occurring well into the evening.
