UPDATED:

Denver rung in Earth Day by dropping between a tenth to a quarter of an inch of rain overnight but the stormy weather should clear up just in time for Saturday’s March for Science.

Rain and a few snowflakes in the Denver metro area are expected to stop falling around 9-10 a.m., which may be welcomed news by those gathering in Civic Center for Saturday morning’s march, said National Weather Service meteorologist Nezette Rydell.

There’s still a chance of rain during the rest of the day but Rydell said she didn’t expect it. The high Saturday should be around 58 degrees with an overnight low of 35 degrees. Southeast winds are expected to start blowing in the afternoon.

Sunday is expected to roll in with sunny skies and a high near 75 degrees, which is great weather for anyone taking advantage of this week’s last free day at the National Parks.

There’s a slight chance of showers Tuesday with the chances increasing Wednesday night and Thursday, Rydell said.
