Sutherland softball star wins Advantage Federal Credit Union's Girls Sports Athlete of the Spring

With over 26,000 votes, Cara Orlando is the Advantage Federal Credit Union's Girls Sports Athlete of the Spring.

We honored all the season's Athlete of the Week winners by having them compete in one final poll to become the Advantage Federal Credit Union's Girls Sports Athlete of the Spring Season.

Voters chose Orlando who cruised to an Athlete of the Week win June 5. Pittsford Sutherland's eighth-grade softball star hit a walk-off to win the Class A region final 2-1 in eight innings over Iroquois. Orlando's hit was a three-run homer that was officially recorded as an RBI-single.

This is the final poll for the 2023-24 seasons. During the upcoming fall season, the polls will launch on Mondays at democratandchronicle.com.

Your vote determines who is honored as Section V's best.
