Free Slurpee Day is coming: How to get yours from 7-Eleven
The nearly record-setting heat that continues to broil much of the county and the Mid-Atlantic region may have met is match: ice-cold Slurpees from 7-Eleven.
You'll be able to at least temporarily beat the heat by scoring a free Slurpee during "Slurpee Day" this week.
Here's when and how to get your free Slurpee.
When is Slurpee Day at 7-Eleven?
Thursday, July 11 is "Slurpee Day," which celebrates 7-Eleven's birthday.
"7-Eleven will celebrate its 97th birthday on Thursday, July 11, affectionately known as Slurpee Day," read a press release from 7-Eleven. "On Slurpee Day, all customers who visit participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores will receive a free small Slurpee drink to celebrate the annual holiday."
How can I get a free Slurpee on Slurpee Day?
Customers need only to bring their small Slurpee cup to the counter for the free deal.
Customers don't need to make any additional purchases to get a free Slurpee on Slurpee Day.
There is a limit of one free small cup per customer per visit.
Are they any new flavor Slurpees for Slurpee Day?
7-Eleven usually unveils a new flavor for each iteration of Slurpee Day, and this year's new flavor is the MTN DEW Freedom Fusion.
Can I get more than one free Slurpee on Slurpee Day?
Every 7-Eleven customer can get one free Slurpee on "Slurpee Day," but the savvy customer can get an additional cup.
If you are a 7-Eleven Rewards member, you'll be able to get a second free small Slurpee through the mobile app.
Can I bring my own cup for a free Slurpee?
So far, 7-Eleven hasn't indicated if customers will be allowed to bring their own cups for the free Slurpee deal, but it has partnered with the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals to produced a limited-edition cup for Slurpee Day.
"Designed by Children's Miracle Network Hospitals National Champion, Nolan, the Slurpee cup will aim to bring hope to other pediatric cancer patients and inspire everyone this Slurpee season," read 7-Eleven's press release. "Customers can also support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals by opting in to in-store fundraising campaigns starting today at 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores nationwide."
