McDonald's has an Orange Cream Pop Shake in Canada. Here's how to get one in the U.S.

It's the summer of orange.

After Wendy's introduced the orange creamsicle frosty, McDonald's followed suit with an Orange Cream Pop Shake.

There's just one catch, it's only in Canada. McDonald's must cherish the Canadian market because in recent weeks, Canada has received, according to the Instagram account @Snackolator:

  • Strawberry Cheesecake McFlurry
  • Grimace Shake
  • Orange Cream Pop Shake

McDonald's Orange Cream Pop Shake secret menu hack

While you cannot get the official Orange Cream Pop Shake in the United States, there is a way to get an orange cream milkshake at McDonald's.

You have to go in and order face-to-face, this shake is not on any McDonald's digital menu. When you order, ask for a vanilla milkshake with Hi-C orange mixed in with it. You may get an odd look, but if you get the right person, they will hook you up with the orange cream shake. But, be prepared if the person can't fulfill the order – this is not a regular menu item.

How does McDonald's Orange Cream Pop Shake secret menu hack taste?

It will depend totally on the person making it because there isn't a true formula for it. The one we tested tasted like a vanilla shake with a hint of orange, mostly as an aftertaste. The combination was probably an 80-20 or 90-10 shake-to-Hi-C ratio. It might be better if it's more 70-30 shake-to-Hi-C ratio. But remember, this isn't a normal menu item. You really are at the whim of your server.

That said, it has an orange-cream flavor and is refreshing on a hot day. In the pantheon of McDonald's shakes, it's not the Grimace Shake, Shamrock Shake or Egg Nog Shake, but it has a better flavor than the traditional strawberry shake. It's worth trying to get at McDonald's and it can take care of us until McDonald's brings the Orange Cream Pop Shake to the United States.
