Until recently, Julie walked daily, was a life-long skier and enjoyed motorcycle trips with her husband, Bart. In her younger years, she enjoyed roller skating, field hockey, softball and playing the oboe.

Julie adored her nieces and nephews. They were drawn to her because she was so friendly and engaging. Being Meemaw to her grandchildren Carter and Charlotte was one of the greatest joys of Julie’s life.

Pleasant High School and Elizabethtown College. Julie dedicated 35 years of service to Wilmington Trust and later M&T Bank as a banking officer. She was respected and cherished by her colleagues and customers. Julie managed to work despite her illness until October 2023.

In addition to her father, Julie was preceded in death by her daughters, Erica and Amy Stevens. Julie will be dearly missed by her devoted husband of 33 years, Bart Stevens; children, Sean Stevens (Vanessa) and Erin Stevens; mother, Margaret Ann McDermott; siblings, Mark McDermott, Cheryl McDermott (Eileen), Carol Hunter, Kevin McDermott (Karen), and Michael McDermott (Gretchen); grandchildren, Carter and Charlotte Stevens; and sister-in-law, Eileen Bowen. Tragically, Julie’s sister-in-law Francine Kositsky, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 6, 2024.
