Gary Wayne Huegel

Gary Wayne Huegel, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Thursday, July 4, 2024, at the age of 62 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Gary was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Newark, DE. His family and friends were near and dear to his heart. Gary was a pillar of strength to his family; always putting their needs before his own. His generous spirit, warm smile, and lighthearted demeanor touched the lives of all who knew him.

Gary was born on October 13, 1961, and is survived by his wife, Julie, and their children – Joseph (Amy), Meghan, Gunnar (Hailey), Daniel (Madalyn), Katherine (Landon), Juliana, and 17 grandchildren. As well as his siblings Martin (Carol), Heidi (Daniel), Daniel (Kari), and Joshua (Tracy) with a host of friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by both parents Otto and Eileen Huegel.

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

Visitation will be held from 6pm – 7:30pm, Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Old Apostolic Lutheran Church, 2038 Pleasant Valley Road, Newark, DE 19702. The funeral service will be held at 10am on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Old Apostolic Lutheran Church at the above address. Interment will be in Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Cherry Hill Cemetery, 390 Cherry Hill Road, Elkton, MD 21921.
