The North Texas men’s basketball team will play in an ESPN-sponsored event in Orlando this season that will include three other high-profile mid-major programs.
Northern Iowa, Utah State and St. Bonaventure will round out the field for the event.
The ESPN Events Invite that runs in conjunction with the second tournament will feature Florida, Minnesota, Wake Forest and Wichita State.

ESPN will host a second event in Orlando featuring Northern Iowa, North Texas, Utah State, and St. Bonaventure. Two-game bracket.
The secondary tournament the Mean Green will play in is set to begin Nov. 27.
The schedule and matchups will be announced at a later date.
UNT has participated in a host of similar regular-season events in recent years. The Mean Green played in the Shriners Children’s Hospital Charleston Classic and National Association of Basketball Coaches Brooklyn Showcase last season.
The tournament will give UNT an opportunity to play in another high-profile event.
The Mean Green faced Northern Iowa last season and pulled out an 83-77 overtime win early in the year.
UNT went on to finish 19-15 after falling to Seton Hall in the second round of the National Invitation Tournament.
Northern Iowa finished 19-14. Utah State advanced to the NCAA Tournament and beat TCU in the first round before falling to Purdue.
St. Bonaventure posted a 20-13 record in the 2023-24 campaign.
