2019-2020 GOALS:
What is our community’s greatest asset? Your answer may be – like ours – our children. Americans have always valued education. We believe education is a cornerstone of individual and community success.
We know it’s essential to getting a job with a good wage and health benefits. And we know an educated workforce is fundamental to a community’s economic prosperity. We believe that by transforming education, we can change lives, provide families hope for the future, and break the cycle of poverty. Since we began in 2003, we have helped over 7,500 students across Dallas achieve success! We encourage everyone to dream big here at Beacon Hill. That’s why our goals are lofty. We believe that if we shoot for the moon, we will at least land among the stars.
In 2019-20 we will:
• Tutor over 1,200 Students in Reading and Math in After School, In-School, and Summer programs
• Serve over 25 Public Schools, Charter schools, and Community locations
• 85% of students will demonstrate an increase in grades
• 95% will maintain and/or improve in reading and/or math level
• Attain a 70% increase in parents’ school-based participation
• 99% of our Beacon Hill Scholars will pursue postsecondary education

FUNDRAISING EVENTS:
We are currently in the planning and development phase for our 2019 – 2020 fund raising events. We are seeking volunteers to serve as Special Event Champions for our Literacy Luncheon, Scholarship Ball and various family and community events.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
Achievement and preparation are at the heart of everything we do. Beacon Hill is looking for
people just like you. Opportunities include: Reading and Math Tutors, Mentors, Teacher and
Program Assistants. Additionally, if you have a passion for education and an expertise in the
areas of Administration, Fundraising, IT, Marketing,Accounting, Programming and Event Planning we need you.
DONATION OPPORTUNITIES:
A family’s financial situation should not determine the quality of education their children receive.
Over 85% of our students come from low-income households. We want our families to focus
on raising happy, healthy students, not spiral notebooks and markers. You can help by donating
the following:
• Literacy Lab items: books for various grade levels, reading pillows, book cases, bean bags, decorative rugs, horse shoe and kidney tables and chairs
• Scholar Welcome Kits: school supplies, timers, money pouches
• Six Week Success Kits: Positive reward recognition for student progress (Goodie bags with treats and grade level books)
• Program Incentive Supply Items: drinks, chips, prizes, gift cards any amount
• Technology Center items: headphones, tablets, Docu Cam
• Teacher Support: laptops, Docu Cam, professional development consultants and luncheon sponsors
• Office Needs: conference room chairs, filing cabinets
