Death of woman in Old East Dallas ruled a homicide, police say

Dallas Fire Rescue was responding to a welfare check when they found the woman

Officials determined a woman was killed after she was found unresponsive on the floor of an Old East Dallas home, Dallas police said.

Dallas Fire-Rescue responded about 3:20 p.m. July 6 to a welfare check in the 6300 block of Llano Avenue.

Officers had to force entry into the home where they found a woman unresponsive on the floor, police say. The woman died at the scene.

The next day, the Dallas County Medical Examiner classified the death as a homicide, according to a release from Dallas police.
