Avril Lavigne has confirmed that she’s not dead!

The Canadian rocker finally addressed a long-running urban myth that claimed she passed away shortly after her first album in 2003.

Conspiracy theorists believe she was then replaced by a look-a-like named Melissa Vandella.

Two decades on Avril said: “It’s just funny to me, on one end everyone is like, ‘Oh my god you look the exact same, you haven’t aged a day’ but then on the other hand it’s like, ‘There’s this conspiracy theory that I am not me’.

“I mean obviously I am me, it is so dumb!”

Avril will prove she’s alive and kicking when she rocks Glastonbury Festival for the first time this summer.

And it sounds like she will be getting stuck in with the camping masses rather than helicopter-ing out to a posh hotel.

She explained: “I like touring with my friends, days off taking the bus to a campsite, and camping and pulling up to a RV site instead of going to a hotel and sitting there staring at the ceiling like, ‘What is my life’.”

Naturally she’ll bring some home comforts to Worthy Farm including her legendary Hello Kitty collection.

She laughed: “That tour bus is my home, it’s Hello the f*** Kitty everything, I have like 20 Hello Kitty pillows in the front lounge and I’ve got like Hello Kitty bedding, Hello Kitty towels and everything is pink and fun!”

It’s 22-years since her signature song hit No1 but Avril still has a soft spot for Sk8ter Boi.

In fact, she might be looking for one at Glasto if they can party as hard as she can.

The Complicated songstress, 39, told the Call Her Daddy podcast her dream date likes “playing beer pong until the sun comes out” and getting “matching tattoos”.
