A "selfish" woman has been blasted for her cheeky plan to park a camper van outside her neighbour's house for months on end.

The London-based woman took to the internet seeking approval for her scheme to hog the already jam-packed street outside her home. Even though the locals were already having a mare finding a spot for their cars, she wanted to leave her camper van there.

There's no hard and fast rule in the UK against parking your camper on the road by your house, as long as you're not kipping in it, but some pointed out her neighbours wouldn't like it.

Spilling the beans on Mumsnet, the unnamed neighbour reckoned she could nab a "large transit-sized camper van very cheaply from a relative", according to the Mirror.

She added: "We'd love to have one for holidays and camping trips and it would be helping out our relative who is a bit overwhelmed about selling it."

But half say they have felt pressured to lend their vehicle to friends or relatives

She went on: "There is unrestricted parking on the road, but it's always hard to find a spot – for our neighbours who don't have off street parking, spaces are heavily contested." As well as this, she also highlighted the issue of leaving the camper van "outside a neighbour's house for months".

The woman noted: "Obviously there's no law against us taking up a space with a camper van that will be parked in the same place 99% of the time. But also it feels a unneighbourly to park a whacking great van outside someone's house and leave it there. But we'd love the van and have nowhere else to park it."

The comment section was full of users roasting the mum's idea, with one saying it would "cause absolute murder". Another chimed in with: "Your neighbours will hate your guts if you do this."

Someone else shared their own sour experience, adding: "From personal experience if you choose to park the van on the road rather than your drive, your neighbours will be extremely p***ed off. Your car might even be keyed. Could permanently damage relations."

Meanwhile, a fourth fumed: "That would be a really really unreasonable thing to do. Next door park a bloody great transit outside my house for weeks on end, it infuriates me.

"It blocks the light and makes deliveries difficult. If I thought I could get away with it I'd had keyed it and let the tyres down. You are being very unreasonable and selfish."
