Young Hamilton-born midfielder Ben Summers made his Celtic debut in the Premiership leaders' 4-1 trouncing of Kilmarnock this afternoon.

Goals from Kyogo, Daizen Maeda and a Matt O'Riley double had the defending champions on easy street, before Liam Donnelly pulled a goal back for Kilmarnock just before the interval, as Ange Postocoglou's side restored their 12-point lead at the top of the table.

But it will have provided a sweet moment for 18-year-old Summers, who replaced Sead Haksabanovic with two minutes of normal time remaining, while fellow 'B' team star Rocco Vata also got more minutes under his belt, replacing Maeda 20 minutes earlier.

Summers was yet to make his first-team bow until this afternoon, but had been training with the squad for a while, alongside Vata and Bosun Lawal.

Ben has been with Celtic since he was seven, and signed his first professional contract at 16, joining the 'B' team in the Lowland League at the start of the 2021-22 season, while also playing for the under-18s.

Summers' claim to fame came early on, when he portrayed a young Tommy Burns in a documentary of the Celtic legend.
