True to form: Wendy Williams gave her saucy take this week on her fellow daytime host Ellen DeGeneres ending her show after 19 years
Wendy, whose studio audience is comprised of her staff because of the pandemic, alleged that 'by the way, I believe she's leaving because the workplace conditions, you know, I mean, we all in this room know people who've worked at the mm-hmm, mm-hmm, and people who've worked here themsel- mm-hmm, mm-hmm.'
She went on to play clips Ellen speaking to Savannah Guthrie this week and defending herself from the allegations against her.
During the interview Ellen said she felt the controversy was 'too orchestrated,' arguing that 'people get picked on, but for four months straight?'
Ellen also claimed that 'all I've ever heard from every guest that comes on the show is what a happy atmosphere this is' and said: 'I don't know how I could have known when there's 255 employees here.'
Telling the world: DailyMail.com broke the news that Ellen would announce her departure Wednesday (pictured), and she then confirmed as much to The Hollywood Reporter

After the clips finished playing Wendy dished: 'I'm not sure that all the guests are happy. I was a guest. I wasn't happy.'
Wendy also said of Ellen's decision to leave the show: 'I don't know whether she told her current staff, though. She seems like the type of person that would come out onstage and announce it to everybody and people are looking at the TV as she's saying it like: "Wai-wha-wait, what just happened?"'
In fact DailyMail.com broke the news that Ellen would announce her departure Wednesday, and she then confirmed as much to The Hollywood Reporter.
By contrast Wendy assured her staff that if her show comes to an end 'I will let everybody know around here years before it actually happens. That way you know how to save your money properly and maybe start applying to other shows. I won't be jealous. I'll be maybe, slightly offended. Slightly!' she quipped with a smile.
From the purple chair: During her Hot Topics segment Wendy also opined that '19 years on TV doesn't change your life it exposes you for the person that you really are'
However she congratulated Ellen for having a show that by its conclusion will have lasted 19 years, acknowledging: 'We should be so lucky. I'm not staying all that time.'
She explained that running a talk show is 'hard. Every single day is hard. And we never know around here, or any talk show, if you're canceled.'
Wendy, whose TV show began in 2008, added: 'And contract, schmontract. They will buy that contract out and send you on your giddy-up.'
During her interview with Savannah this week Ellen branded the accusations against her as 'misogynistic' and said they 'took a toll' because of how 'sensitive' she is.
Her side: During her interview with Savannah Guthrie this week Ellen branded the accusations against her as 'misogynistic' and said they 'took a toll' because of how 'sensitive' she is
The talk-show mogul compared her latest publicity problems to when she lost work after coming out as a lesbian in 1997.
Last summer a Buzzfeed article aired out claims of sexual harassment against multiple male producers on the program.
Around that time Ellen was accused of ruling over a work environment where bullying was permitted, with alleged rules like a ban on eating meat or fish at lunch.
It was also claimed that staffers were not allowed to talk to her - and if they did they had to chew gum first in order to accommodate her 'sensitive nose.'
Defending herself: During the interview Ellen said she felt the controversy was 'too orchestrated,' arguing that 'people get picked on, but for four months straight?'
However when she announced her impending departure from the program this week she insisted that the accusations were not her reason for exiting.
She said that she had signed a three-year contract ending in 2022 and 'always knew' that she would bow out once her obligations to that deal were fulfilled.
In her Hollywood Reporter interview confirming her exit Ellen said: 'When you're a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged - and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it's just not a challenge anymore.'
