'It's a much nicer slot': Kate Ritchie, 41, says she is relieved she's hosting a drivetime radio show... just days after 2Day FM axed the Grant, Ed & Ash breakfast program
Katie Ritchie is counting her blessings at the moment.
As the co-host of Nova's Kate, Tim & Marty drive-time radio show, the mother-of-one has just been nominated for Best Entertainment Presenter for the Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs).
However, the former soap actor appears to be most happy with the fact she is co-host of an afternoon radio program, as it suits her lifestyle.
Making radio waves: Kate Ritchie (pictured), 41, has spoken candidly of her relief at hosting a drivetime radio show on Monday... just days after 2Day FM axed the Grant, Ed & Ash breakfast program
As reported by Yahoo! Lifestyle on Monday, Kate, 41, said: 'I think the drive time radio slot is a much nicer slot.
'I've been able to hang onto a bit more of my life by working at the other end of the day.'
Kate's comments come in the wake of 2Day FM's shock axing of the Grant, Ed & Ash breakfast radio show last Thursday.

2Day will be replacing the trio - who had been on air together for 18 month, but faced falling ratings - with an all-music program.
Media observers cannot help but wonder if Kate is not also relieved to be the co-host of radio show safe from the extreme pressures of the breakfast slot.
That's not to say drive-time is not competitive, but the radio jocks do not face the kind of competition represented by long-time ratings behemoth The Kyle and Jackie O Show, on KIIS FM.

Kate is in good company with her nomination for Best Entertainment Presenter, joining Lawrence Mooney (2MMM), and Nova's Sam Pang and Tim Blackwell.
Former soap actor Kate began her radio career on the Nova breakfast show with Merrick & Rosso back in 2008.
She became co-host of the Nova FM drive show with Tim Blackwell and Marty Sheargold in 2014.
Safe harbour: Media observers cannot help but wonder if Kate is not also relieved to be the co-host of radio show safe from the extreme pressures of the breakfast slot
