'Let's not poo-poo an industry that employs so many people': Kate Ritchie reveals what she REALLY thinks about Tom Gleeson's Gold Logie speech
Kate Ritchie has added her name to the growing list of Aussie celebrities left unimpressed with Tom Gleeson's Gold Logie acceptance speech last month.
Speaking on her radio show, Nova FM's Kate, Tim & Marty on Wednesday, the 40-year-old actress and radio host confessed she wasn't a fan of the 45-year-old comedian's cynical speech.
She said it went against the sense of camaraderie that often enveloped the Gold Logie nominees.
'Everybody would like to win, but usually in those groups, you'd like to see somebody in that group win as well. It's kind of a nod to the industry,' she said.
Kate then referenced an interview media personality Amanda Keller, 57, had given the night before on Andrew Denton's Interview, where she was asked about Tom's speech.
'I think she said something else like that, like, let's not poo-poo an industry that employs so many people and that we're all part of,' Kate added.

'I wasn’t unimpressed that he won. I think I was a little unimpressed with the speech. There was a lack of graciousness. He wanted to make it a joke...' she said.
'I thought it was unfortunate that we were made to feel that we were needy or up ourselves for wanting it, or for thinking it mattered.'

'It wasn’t an easy process. We were made to feel ashamed for being in the television industry, and I don’t think that’s fair, because this industry supports a lot of jobs,' she added.
