James Arthur has pulled out of his performance at the Teenage Cancer Trust concert at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday after struggling with 'crippling' anxiety and 'poor mental health'.
The 31-year-old singer apologised to fans in an official statement on Twitter, in which he said his struggle with his mental state over the past few days had led him to make the difficult decision.
He explained: 'I’m deeply sorry to announce that I’m going to have to pull out of the Teenage Cancer Trust performance tonight.

'I have been feeling crippled by anxiety and poor mental health over the past few days and it’s badly affecting me. I simply cannot perform tonight.'
'I would like to profoundly apologise to the amazing Teenage Cancer Trust team, to all that have bought tickets to see me and to the boys from Take That, it was a dream to be able to perform alongside them but devastatingly I cannot perform this evening.'
Speaking directly to fans, James concluded: 'I promise I will make it up to you and I’m looking to get help for this.'

The X Factor winner was set to perform alongside Take That during the fourth night of the charity's week-long event.
After revealing the news on Twitter, fans and celebrities alike sent their best to the singer as they thanked him for being honest about his mental health struggle, and urged him to take care of himself.
Shayne Ward, whose performance as Aidan Connor in Coronation Street helped to highlight male mental health issues, wrote to the singer: 'Sending you strength fella.'
While You Me At Six frontman Josh Franceschi added: 'Chin up lad. Nothing more important than our health x'
Fellow X Factor performer Grace Davies said: 'Nothing more important than your health - sending love your way!'
