'I'm encouraging her to be a paediatrician!' Kate Ritchie reveals she wants daughter, Mae, 4 to follow a career in medicine instead of acting
A successful career as a child actress has seen Kate Ritchie follow her dreams of radio hosting, modelling and writing her own's children's book.
But the former Home and Away star wants four year-old daughter Mae to pursue a career in medicine.
'I'm encouraging her to be a paediatrician before an actor — she could do medicine,' she told Herald Sun on Monday.

She added: 'If I knew that she would have the same wonderful experience that I had growing up on set then of course I would encourage her.
'But not every job is the lovely, warm, secure cocoon that is Home And Away.'
Mae is Kate's only child with NRL player husband Stuart Webb.
