Hugh do you think you are? Hollywood heartthrob Grant joins Peter Capaldi on the set of Paddington 2 as shooting begins in London
One is a bona fide A-Lister used to playing roguish men with a charming streak, and the other spends much of his time saving the universe on the small screen.
But on Tuesday Hugh Grant and Peter Capaldi were cast in very different roles, as the pair joined the rest of the Paddington 2 cast on-location in London.
While Peter, 58, is reprising his role as the mean-spirits Mr Curry, Hugh, 56, is a new addition to the cast - playing a vain local celebrity.

Heading out to film a bustling street scene, the two stars looked to be firmly in character as they stepped out in costume on-set for the first time.
Hugh - whose last film, Florence Foster Jenkins, won him plaudits - has taken on the role of Phoenix Buchanan, a faded actor who lives near to Paddington and the Browns.
Dressed in a warm black parka jacket, white crisp chinos and tobacco lace-up Oxfords, the actor looked like any other London resident battling the bad weather.

With his peppered, greying locks swept into a messy style, Hugh wore a stern look on his face as he marched down a street - presumably Phoenix having had a bad day as a local has-been.
Peter meanwhile looked to have had no trouble trading the TARDIS for the perks of being a bus conductor.
The Scottish actor, who is reprising his role as the mean-spirited Reginald Curry, was dressed in navy trousers, matching overcoat, a retro V-neck jumper, shirt and tie, and a high-visibility vest.

With a ticket machine strapped to his belt and a thermos dangling on the other side, it seemed that Mr. Curry was hard at work as the Browns emerged minus Paddington.
Also out on the street for the days shoot was Hugh Bonneville, who plays Paddington's guardian, Mr Henry Brown.
The actor wore a grim expression on his face as he handed out flyers alongside his wife Mary (Sally Hawkins), and their children Jonathan (Samuel Joslin) and Judy (Madeleine Harris).

Though it looks as though Paddington isn't with the family due to the bear being pre-occupied with a marmalade sandwich, as the Brown family were all sporting pin badges reading 'Free Paddington'.
The sequel follows on from the hugely popular 2014 film, and it sees Paddington (voiced by Ben Whishaw) now happily settled with the Brown family and a popular member of the local community.
The lovable bear picks up a series of odd jobs to buy the perfect present for his Aunt Lucy's 100th birthday, only for the gift to be stolen - leading to some very unfortunate circumstances.
