The Hollywood hunk has been working on a script for a new project, Mantivities.

According to the description at IMDB.com, the plot will focus on a group of friends who get together in an attempt to shake their adolescent behavior.

Pine wrote, directed and starred in his most recent film Poolman, about a guy who looks after an apartment complex pool while fighting to make his hometown a better place to live, received a 22-percent rating from critics and a 20-percent score from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes.

Instead of the poor reviews marring his ambitions, the actor and writer told NPR it inspired him to give up on the pursuit of 'perfection.'

'My film got absolutely just decimated when it premiered in Toronto, just like obliterated,' he said.

'Which brings up for me one of my primary triggers, or whatever, is not being liked or this idea of perfection, of not creating something that is perceived as [perfect].'

'So in many ways, this journey thus far has been so great to remember: I had joy. I experienced joy,' he explained. 'It still gives me joy. That's it. That's enough. There is no perfect. That is perfect. There's nothing more perfect than that.'

Pine, his fellow castmates and fans of the Star Trek franchise have been anxiously awaiting the script for what will be the fourth and final installment in the Kelvin timeline.

'We all like one another a lot. I’m good friends with everybody I’ve worked with. We have a great time doing it,' he told Pop Verse  at the ACE Superhero Comic Con in June.

'I’m a lot older now, so I would be curious where that next story lands us in terms of what it would be and what we’ve said in the press.'

Pine began portraying Kirk at age 29, and the third film in the franchise, Star Trek Beyond was released in 2016.
