Jane Lynch donned patriotic colors alongside wife, Jennifer Cheyne, as the pair attended the Montecito Fourth of July Parade in Santa Barbara, California on Thursday. 

The Glee alum, 63 - who recently enjoyed a rare outing with the screenwriter for a lunch date - strolled with Cheyne while heading to the festivities and at one point channeled her Best In Show character as she cuddled an adorable dog. 

The actress sported a red and white-checkered shirt that was buttoned at the front as well as a pair of denim jeans. 

She layered the outfit with a dark navy and red-striped sweater and later tied the outer piece around her waist in the warmer, summer temperatures. 

Lynch completed the daytime outfit by slipping into a pair of white sneakers that were secured with laces, and added a pair of stylish shades to protect her eyes from the bright California sunshine. 

The two later took a seat on a curb in a shady area and Jane could be seen flashing a cheerful smile as she held an adorable dog in her arms. 

The star channeled her 2000 film, Best In Show, where she took on the role of taskmaster trainer, Christy Cummings. 

Other celebrities that were cast in the mockumentary comedy included Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Jennifer Coolidge, Michael McKean and also John Michael Higgins. 

The premise follows, 'A behind-the-scenes look into the highly competitive and cut-throat world of dog shows through the eyes of a group of ruthless dog owners,' per IMDB.  

Last year in March, Jane notably had a Best In Show reunion with Coolidge as they crossed paths at the GLAAD Media Awards.  

Jane's partner, Jennifer - whom she tied the knot with in 2021 - also embraced the summer holiday in a red jacket as well as a blue and white-patterned skirt. 

The writer opted for a straw hat on top of her head while stepping outside, and also wore a pair of comfy, white sneakers. 

Lynch and Cheyne briefly dated in the early 2000s and rekindled their romance a decade later. 

While talking to People in 2020, Jane expressed that she is 'grateful' for Jennifer, and expressed, 'My partner makes me thankful all day long.' 

'We have all these miles racked up, and we have some things we want to buy. I said, "Figure out how we can use miles to buy this stuff.'" And she figured it out. So now I'm like, "I'm so grateful for you," because I couldn't figure that out.' 

The star gushed, 'She figures out how to deal with [everything]. She's like, "I don't need to hire a handyman."' 

'Although she's very, very feminine and soft, she's got a thing of tools that she brings out and she can fix almost anything. Plumbing, and loose shutters, and our air conditioner.'

Lynch - who will turn 64 later this month on July 14 - added, 'That's the greatest thing about her, because I get overwhelmed, and I have no patience with details. She's very methodical and she takes things very slowly.' 

'She's really smart. We work so well and we're really grateful that we found each other.' 

In 2021, Jane and Jennifer held their nuptials at a courthouse in Santa Barbara and the actress opened up about the wedding while talking to Today. 

In regards to the proposal, she recalled, 'Jennifer and I have been together forever and we were shopping for insurance for her and I said, "Let's just get married." So that's how romantic it went.' 

She added that the ceremony itself was a 'really beautiful thing' and said, 'We live in Santa Barbara and we went to their courtyard, or courthouse, which is a beautiful old Spanish building.' 

'It's a mission building. Her son, Harry became a minister with the Universal Life Church...So he married us. And it was just the three of us out in the courtyard at the courthouse. And it was lovely.'

During an interview on Live With Kelly And Ryan (now Live With Kelly And Mark) in 2022, Lynch admitted that she also became emotional during the nuptials.

'And the three of us said our little vows to each other and signed the papers, and it was really nice. I shed a tear. I was a little surprised.' 

Earlier last week, the pair were seen grabbing lunch together at hotspot Lilac Montecito on Coast Village Road. 

Along with taking on roles in front of the camera, Jane is also known for hosting the revival game show, Weakest Link, which began airing in 2020. 

'I like making it a safe space for the players so all they have to worry about is playing the game well,' Lynch told The Hollywood Reporter last month in June. 'I have such adoration for the contestants, too. I don't know how they do it.' 

'I wouldn't be able to come up with those answers while the clock is ticking and all of America is looking at you. I think it's a pretty herculean task on their part, and they always step up so superbly.' 

She added, 'What I love about hosting is that it's about moving the game along. I'm a controlling person. I like being in charge.'
