The musician has invited fans to join him in Run Travis Run.

'After my accident in 2008 more than 70% of my body was burnt and I was told by doctors that I may never be able to walk or play drums the same again. I was never athletic and I never played sports but I immediately had this urge to prove everyone wrong including myself,' he explained on the website.

Barker said he began by walking and then taking short runs, and 'I felt this sense of calmness and a rush of dopamine every time I ran.'

The first physical race has been scheduled for July 6 in Los Angeles. Another is set for July 21 in Queens, NY.  Fans who can't attend physically are invited to join the race virtually.
