Inside Taylor Swift's London life as star prepares to bring record-breaking Eras tour to the capital

Some 90,000 people are set to descend on Wembley stadium on Friday as Taylor Swift starts a mammoth four-day musical marathon at the arena - to the delight of her London fans.

The songstress, 34, has already wowed fans with performances in Edinburgh, Liverpool and Cardiff marked with marriage proposals, a Welsh welcome and even a small earthquake.

However, the star is a little more familiar with the capital, having reportedly lived in the city with her ex-boyfriend and 'London Boy' Joe Alwyn, as well as dating other British heartthrobs such as Harry Styles and Tom Hiddleston.

She's so familiar with London that she even has a favourite kebab shop and pub, and makes a string of references to the city in her music.

Here, MailOnline looks inside Taylor Swift's London life, ahead of the pop star bringing her record-breaking Eras tour to the capital on Friday.

British boyfriends

Taylor's adoration for London kicked in long before she made the move over with Joe Alwyn.

The singer had a three-month romance with One Direction star Harry Styles from November 2012 through to January 2013.

Taylor was also linked to Matty Healy in 2015 and the pair were pictured partying together at The Soho House Pop-Up in the city with Nick Grimshaw.

She dated actor Tom Hiddleston between June and September in 2016, who was born and bred in London.

The couple even took the huge step of meeting one another's parents, with Taylor jetting to the UK to spend time with Tom's mother in Suffolk, while he went to her adopted home town of Nashville.

Following their split, Taylor moved to the Big Smoke once she began dating Joe Alwyn, who went on to reportedly become the subject of her song London Boy.

The move also came shortly after the infamous fall out with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

Speaking to TIME Magazine about this time in her life, the Bad Blood songstress said: 'That took me down psychologically to a place I've never been before.

'I moved to a foreign country. I didn't leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn't trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard.'

According to an insider who spoke to The Sun in 2017, Taylor had been 'walking around with Joe in London using disguises, like scarves and hats, to keep her identity under wraps.'

It was reported that the singer went on to spend most of lockdown in north London with Joe, living in Primrose Hill and also spending time in Crouch End.

References to London in songs

It's no surprise that after spending so much time in the city, it has made its way into some of her music - and her most recent studio album, The Tortured Poet's Department, is no exception.

In the track So Long, London, as well as explicitly mentioning the city, she sings: 'You left me at the house by the Heath,' seemingly referencing Hampstead Heath.

Another line reads: 'I'm just mad as hell 'cause I loved this place,' as she references leaving the city post-breakup.

The Black Dog, which is featured on her new album, seems to be a reference to a very specific spot in London - a free house in Vauxhall.

'You forgot to turn [your location] it off,' Swift sings. 'And so I watch as you walk into some bar called The Black Dog.'

Fans theorised that the lines refer to the aftermath of her breakup with British actor Joe Alwyn, with Swift supposedly seeing him going into the pub via her smartphone

Her pre-breakup song London Boy from her album Lover also namechecks the area, with Swift singing how Alwyn 'took me back to Highgate, met all of his best mates' before comparing herself to 'a Tennessee Stella McCartney on the Heath'.

Further south, Shoreditch and Soho are named as places where she likes to walk.

And South Londoners will be pleased to hear she ventures into the SW postcode, singing how she 'enjoys nights in Brixton'.

The Anti Hero singer also has some favourite places in London, most notably Kentish Delight kebab shop.

She has reportedly ordered 45 large chicken doner kebabs ahead of her Wembley Stadium show on Friday.

Taylor publicly showed her love for Kentish Delight after famously featuring it in the music video for End Game, which was released back in 2017.

Speaking of her recent bulk £450 order, a source told The Sun: 'They'll be collected by someone from her team on the night.

'It's a big order but the kebab house can handle it. Taylor adds garlic sauce to hers, as well as heaps of salad.'

Reportedly, Taylor would also regularly visit the joint with Joe for a cheeky takeaway, making it a firm favourite of hers.

Moving onto pubs, Taylor is known to be a fan of The Spaniards Inn in North London, which is where she and ex Joe were spotted on their first public date in 2019.

In February 2019, Taylor and Joe made a rare public appearance when they were pictured leaving the Hampstead establishment.

At the time, the couple looked smitten with each other, as they stayed close together while making their way to their car, after spending a few hours at the pub.

And now, bringing her world famous Eras tour to Wembley, Taylor is set to bring a £300million boost to the London economy.

She is set to perform three dates in at the 90,000 capacity venue over the weekend before returning for five more nights from the 15-20th of August.

With a total of 640,000 tickets sold, Greater London Authority are expecting fans to spend an average of £471 per person,
