Who is Jenna Coleman's boyfriend Jamie Childs? Inside Victoria actress' relationship with her director partner as the couple announce pregnancy

Jenna Coleman has revealed she is pregnant with her first child, debuting her baby bump at a dinner to celebrate the opening of the new exhibition at Chatsworth House on Wednesday night.

Cradling her stomach, the Victoria actress, 37, posed in a green floral dress for photos at the historic venue.

The former Emmerdale and Doctor Who star was first linked with her director boyfriend Jamie Childs, 35, in 2021 after they met on set for The Sandman the year before.

The pregnancy announcement comes just six months after Jenna left fans speculating that she had tied the knot with Jamie after she was spotted with a chunky gold band on her wedding finger - which has since disappeared.

But who is Jenna Coleman's partner Jamie Childs? Here, MailOnline looks inside the relationship of the actress and director, including how they have worked together on multiple projects.

Who is Jenna Coleman's boyfriend Jamie Childs?

Jenna's boyfriend Jamie, 35, is a writer and director who hails from the North East of England.

Born in the village of Shotton Colliery, the filmmaker has cited his hometown as inspiration for his work, after shooting his first feature-length movie Jackdaw in in Hartlepool and Teesside.

His most notable work includes The Sandman (2022), Willow (2022), His Dark Materials (2019), and some episodes of Doctor Who.

Jackdaw, which was released in January, was Jamie's feature film directorial debut, having only worked on TV shows previously.

Speaking to Screen Rant about how he made the jump from TV to film, Jamie said: 'I was in between two TV jobs at the time, sort of unemployed, and thought I can't really sit around just watching movies for another month.

'I thought I should probably sit down and write one. Also, my partner basically stopped talking to me on a holiday.

'She was rehearsing for something she was doing next, and basically, I realised that she just needed to get her head into it. So, I put my headphones on and began writing, and that when it all started.'

How long have Jenna Coleman and Jamie Childs been together?

Jenna and Jamie met on the set of the Netflix series The Sandman in 2020 and have since worked together again on Jamie's first film Jackdaw.

The actress played the role of occult detective Johanna Constantine in the adaption of the Neil Gaiman and DC Comics' book, which was directed by Jamie.

Meanwhile in the thriller film Jackdaw, the couple worked together again as Jenna played a character called Bo - an old flame of Jack, who is portrayed by Oliver Jackson-Cohen.

The couple were first rumoured to be together in December 2021 and were officially spotted together for the first time in February 2022.

They were photographed on a stroll in Islington smiling and holding hands, just days after they were seen outside her £2.2million home as furniture was moved in.

Since then, Jenna and Jamie's public appearances together have been rare and they largely seem to keep their romantic life quiet.

The actress famously keeps her relationships private and has never spoken publicly about her romance with Jamie.

In January, Jenna sparked speculation that she and Jamie had taken their relationship to the next level after being seen wearing a ring on her wedding finger while on a stroll in London

Who has Jenna Coleman dated previously?

Jenna previously dated Tom Hughes, who played her husband Prince Albert in ITV's Victoria, for seven years.

They met in 2013 on the set of BBC drama series Dancing On The Edge, but went their separate ways in 2020.

At the time it was reported that the pair were 'terribly sad' by the end of their relationship, with the actress moving into her own pad and they reportedly attempted to 'salvage a friendship.'

Before Tom, Jenna was in a relationship with Bodyguard and Game Of Thrones star Richard Madden.

Jenna also previously dated her Emmerdale co-star Karl Davies, during her four-year stint on the soap as Jasmine Thomas.

The star was linked to Prince Harry back in 2015, after the pair were pictured looking cosy at a charity polo match.

Are Jenna Coleman and Jamie Childs engaged?

In January, Jenna sparked speculation that she and Jamie had taken their relationship to the next level after being seen wearing a ring on her wedding finger while on a stroll with the director in North London.

It wasn't the first time she was seen wearing the ring but she doesn't usually put it on her wedding finger – leading to rumours their relationship may have become more serious.

However, the actress appeared to squash the speculation in February, after moving her supposed 'wedding ring' to her middle finger.

She was seen strolling in Covent Garden in London with the ring on her third finger instead.

Jenna flashed a glimpse of her hand, revealing she had removed the gold band from her fourth finger and moved it to a less indicative digit.

There was also no sign of the ring on Wednesday night at the 'Imaginary Conversations: An ERDEM Collection Inspired by Duchess Deborah' exhibition.

However, Jenna has previously joked she has had practice for labour during her role of Queen Victoria in the ITV drama, which saw her watch One Born Every Minute to prepare for the labour scenes, as Victoria had nine children.

Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show in 2019, she said: 'I have had many a labour scene now, I'm running out of noises for labour scenes.

'I try to [change it up]... I've just given birth to the seventh child now. And there is still no pain relief as of yet either [in the era the show is set]…

'To be honest, I find if I build up adrenaline and then don't think about it and then watch it back, I think I sounded like a sheep on one thing that I saw back before.

'I'd just have loads of caffeine and then get really built up and then I'm sure one day maybe if I ever give birth I'll realise I was totally wrong.'
