Emmerdale star looks a world away from troublesome teen Sean Spencer 10 years after quitting the soap following major glow-up

He quit his role on Emmerdale back in 2014. 

And 10 years on, Luke Roskell looks a far cry from his troublesome teenager character, Sean Spencer, after experiencing a major glow-up. 

The actor, 27, joined the ITV soap back in 2011 as the son of Ali and Dan Spencer and Amelia’s older brother, being described at the time as 'tearaway' who is 'potentially trouble'.

He starred as Sean for three years, appearing in over 260 episodes and played a part in several dramatic storylines, including a memorable love triangle with Belle Dingle and Gemma Andrews, which soon turned messy and eventually deadly.

After Gemma became pregnant with his baby, Belle inadvertently killed her and was sentenced to prison.

Luke eventually left the soap in 2014, with Sean being written out after deciding to join the army, making his last appearance in December 2014.

Speaking about his decision to leave, Luke said: 'I have had an amazing three years on Emmerdale and I will miss everyone loads. I wanted to explore other opportunities and I am excited to find out what the future holds.'

A decade later, and the former soap star looks very different from his teenage years, having undergone a hunky transformation and switching up his buzzcut for a longer hairstyle.

Luke regularly shares snippets into his life on his social media, showing a fondness for travelling the world and hanging with his friends at the pub.

He's also shown an affinity for sports, playing football as well as getting in the boxing ring to work on his muscles.

While the star can be seen enjoying music festivals, like last year's Glastonbury, while maintaining friendships with former co-stars like actor Max Beesley and Emmerdale's Laura Norton.

Luke's first role after his soap exit was on the stage, playing the lead role of Carl Jackson in Britannia Waves the Rules. 

Since then he has carved out a successful TV career, playing Dan for several episodes of BBC series The A Word.

And earlier this year, Luke appeared as Paul in Paramount+ original crime drama Sexy Beast, a prequel of the acclaimed 2000 film starring Ray Winstone, Ben Kingsley, and Ian McShane.
