Alesha Dixon reveals she refused to let her daughter appear on Britain's Got Talent as she insists she will protect her from the industry

Alesha Dixon has revealed she refused her daughter's wish to dance alongside her during her Britain's Got Talent performance on Friday.

The show judge, 45, insisted that she will protect her children Azura, 10, and Anaya, four, from the industry until they are 'emotionally intelligent enough'.

Speaking to The Times, Alesha admitted that she is striving to set an example to her two daughters and told Azura that she could not dance alongside her during the live show where she performed her new song Ransom.

Despite Azura's father, Azuka Ononye, being one of Alesha's dancers, the songstress felt the time was not right for eldest daughter.

She told the publication: 'Until the day I feel like she's emotionally intelligent enough to handle anything that comes with the industry, the answer will be no, you will not do that.'

Alesha revealed her mindset towards the pressures of being in the public eye and admitted that she can't 'control people's perceptions' but she can do her best at being a mother, performers and businesswoman.

'I can't control what other people's perceptions are', she added.

'My feeling on it is that I can be a mother, make music, work on television, be a businesswoman. I can write the rules for myself.'

Azura's desire to join her parents on stage is not unheard of as celebrities often allow their children to reep the benefits of their fame and give them a boost in their own careers.

Other celebrity children including Beyonce's Blue Ivy and Kanye West's North, have already made a name for themselves in the industry as they have thrust into the limelight during their live performances with mum and dad

Blue has accomplished feats since first performance with her mother on The Renaissance World Tour.

Her popularity and fan base has sky-rocketed since her initially shy dancing performance transformed into a explosion of passion as she joined her mother's backup dancers for a stint in her nightly gigs across the globe.

When Beyonce started her UK tour in May 2023, she sent the crowd wild when her eldest child Blue appeared on stage in London.

In the caption, the mother of three sweetly penned, 'My beautiful first born. I'm so proud and thankful to be your mama. You bring us so much joy, my sweet angel.'

The first snap showed Blue standing towards the front of the stage with her mother directly behind her. She wore a silver, glittering bodysuit along with metallic, baggy trousers, which was similar to Beyonce's stage ensemble.

The Grammy winner then uploaded a short, slow motion clip that showed her eldest child leading other dancers as they began to dance to choreography.

Beyonce could be seen standing on a vehicle in the background while singing a few tracks to the excited audience.

Fans of the child star's performance has consumed the internet in recent months as users cannot stop praising Blue for her dramatic development over a matter of months.

And it is not just Blue Ivy who has been turning heads.

Kanye West's and Kim Kardashian's eldest daughter North West has also been thrust into the spotlight with the help her parent's glitzy careers.

The aspiring child influencer, 10, has recently joined her father in his latest music video and has joined him many times on stage to rap alongside Kanye.

North showed off her rapping skills as she made a surprise cameo in her father's new music video for Talking off his upcoming Vultures album.

She exuded confidence as she joined Kanye, 46, in the video for his song off the controversial Vultures album, which was released on February 9.

In the video, she sings: 'It's your bestie. Miss, Miss Westie. Don't try to test me. It's gonna get messy. It's gonna get messy. Just just bless me! Bless me!'

North  is dressed all in black just like her famous father for the new video, which is a collab with rapper Ty Dolla Sign.

But just aged 10 North has suffered a lot of backlash from the public for her public performances as she was critised her recent rendition of Simba in The Lion King.

North had performed I Just Can't Wait to be King during Disney's live concert production of The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday and Saturday.

North made her acting debut when she took to the stage at The Hollywood Bowl with her famous parents proudly watching on from the audience.

After belting out lyrics at the crowded venue, she received a standing ovation from the audience.

However, some social media users on X, formerly known as Twitter, shared their thoughts on Kim and Kanye's daughter snagging a coveted role in the musical concert.

One noted: 'Nepotism is literally the best thing to be born with,' while another added, 'The worst case of nepo I have witnessed.'

'Nepotism and the synonym next to it is KARDASHIANS,' followed by laughing face emojis.

'Nepotism is so crazy lol,'

'Someone else's more talented, probably voice and dance trained kid didn't get it because his/her family isn't famous enough.'

'She looks great and it seems like she's having a lot of fun, but I'm definitely not gonna bypass the fact that we all know she wouldn't be there if it wasn't who her parents were. This is classism at its finest!'

Another chimed: 'Aw man...I feel bad for the kids there that are actually talented who could've nailed this.

'I'm sure her mom's influence (or money) is the only reason she got this leading/singing role.'

One also shared, 'I don't like that fact that she got this solely based on her mom or dad.

'There's a kid out there with real talent that should've been given this opportunity. And no I'm not a hater I actually like the 'Kardashians.''

It's unclear if North went through a standard audition process. DailyMail.com  reached out to a Kardashian spokesperson for comment at the time.
