Laura Byrne has offered a word of warning to all her fans about to tie the knot, revealing one wedding tradition she regrets doing.

The Bachelor star, 38, who exchanged vows with husband Matty 'J' Johnson in 2022, said she wasted 'a bomb' on a champagne tower.

Bemoaning the decision during her Life Uncut podcast on Thursday, the mother-f-two said the pricey visual spectacle 'didn't even work' on her big day.

'We did the champagne fountain and my advice is, if you have a champagne fountain at your wedding you only need like three or four layers,' she said.

'It cost us a bomb. We had to empty out ten bottles of champagne to try and fill it. No one drank it and we had to pay for that champagne. Such a waste.'

Co-host Brittany Hockley agreed that Laura had 'like 24 layers' in her champagne tower.

'You didn't even fill it. It didn't even work. You cracked the s**ts,' she exclaimed.

Image of Laura and Matty J's intimate union showed the pair attempting to fill at least four layers of a champagne tower, though the aftermath was not seen at the time.

A champagne tower is a structure made of glasses typically stacked atop each other.

The bride and groom typically fill the tower themselves by pouring champagne into the top glass and letting it trickle down to fill the others.

Matty J, 36, first shot to fame on Georgia Love's season of The Bachelorette in 2016, before becoming The Bachelor himself a year later where he fell in love with Laura.

Despite getting together after their stint on The Bachelor, the couple actually met before they ever appeared on the show.

In 2017, he told OK magazine that they'd bumped into each other in Sydney's Bondi: 'We crossed paths. She said something to my friend at the sauna at Icebergs.'

The lovebirds went on to get engaged in 2018 while on holiday in Fiji, before welcoming two beautiful daughters - Marlie-Mae in 2019 and Lola in 2021

They then tied the knot five years after uniting on The Bachelor, wedding at the stunning Cupitt's Estate near Mollymook on the NSW South Coast.

Proudly displaying their love to the world, the pair wrapped their arms around each other and enjoyed a passionate kiss after saying 'I do'.
