Star Wars creator George Lucas throws epic bash for his 80th birthday at Skywalker Ranch... with Steve Martin MCing and performances by Alicia Keys, Jon Batiste and more

George Lucas held a huge birthday bash to celebrate turning 80 years old, with some of the biggest stars in the world showing up.

The Star Wars creator actually turned 80 on Tuesday, May 14, though he invited dozens of A-list friends to celebrate on Saturday at Skywalker Ranch, via Page Six.

Steve Martin served as the MC for the evening, with performances throughout the night by artists like Alicia Keys, Jon Batiste, Don Henley and H.E.R.

The guest list also included Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Samuel L. Jackson, Tyler Perry, Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson, Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Robert De Niro, Glenn Close, Queen Latifah, Kerry Washington, Steve Martin, Chris Rock, H.E.R., Alicia Keys, Don Henley, Jon Batiste, Swizz Beatz, Jon Favreau, and Warwick Davis.

Lucas has owned Skywalker Ranch since 1978, located in a secluded area in Marin County, California north of the Bay Area. 

The ranch sits on 4,700 acres and includes a massive main house, a man-made lake dubbed Lake Ewok and Skywalker Sound, a 153,000-square-foot post-production facility that includes a 300-seat movie theater.

The party took place from roughly 6 PM until midnight on Saturday night, with upwards of 150 guests including Lucas' friends and family.

Mellody Hobson, who Lucas has been married to since 2013, was said to be, 'an exceptional host' by sources, who was, 'warmly greeting everyone at the party.'

The party kicked off with a cocktail hour at the Star Wars gallery on the ranch, followed by an elegant dinner, with dancing and dessert later in the theater area.

The source added the party was a, 'very friendly scene with 'lots of cute convos' throughout the night.

'The drinks were flowing, creating an atmosphere similar to a family gathering [rather] than a white-glove affair,' the source continued. 

'Yet, I assure you, everything was on point and Lucas-themed,' the source added, while noting a few A-list conversations they were privy to.

Winfrey was spotted chatting with Washington while Ford and Queen Latifah even, 'stole a few moments in conversation.'

Aside from the musical performances, there were other various musicians playing Star Wars and Indiana Jones-themed music throughout the bash. 

The gallery even featured oil paintings of the late Carrie Fisher in her iconic role as Princess Leia.

The gallery also featured paintings of Chewbacca along with a 'master replica' of the lightsaber used by Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker. 

Lucas sold his LucasFilm company to Disney in 2012 for a whopping $4.05 billion, with Forbes reporting in April that his current net worth is $5.5 billion.
