Whoopi Goldberg was not impressed during Monday's episode of The View when she was abruptly interrupted as she praised Robert Downey Jr. and Da'Vine Joy Randolph's Oscar wins.

The 68-year-old was sharing her joy at the duo winning the Best Supporting Actor and Actress awards when the Oscars music started playing, which stopped the Sister Act star in her tracks as her co-host Sunny Hostin blurted out: 'Oh, they're playing you off!'

Whoopi - who won an Academy Award for her role in Ghost back in 1990 - was clearly annoyed as she scolded executive producer Brian Teta and told him: 'I'm not going,' and when the camera cut to him, he was seen gesticulating for her to hurry up as he laughed nervously.

It was a rather chaotic Oscars segment as Ana Navarro also ruffled a few feathers when she made a questionable observation about Eva Longoria's 't**ties' live on air and left some viewers unimpressed when she made a joke about Hollywood actor Will Smith and compared him to a dog.

When Sunny, 55, commented on the attendance of canine Messi, who stars in the Oscar-winning film Anatomy of a Fall, Ana quipped: 'That dog was better behaved than Will Smith!' referring to the 2022 ceremony when Will took to the stage and slapped host Chris Rock after he made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

However, Ana didn't stop there as she was pretty brutal when it came to sharing her opinions on the red carpet fashion looks from the 96th Academy Awards.

As Sunny complimented Wicked co-stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo's pink and green gowns, Ana did not hold back and butted in to say: 'I hated it. I thought she [Cynthia] looked like an iguana and the other one [Ariana]... it looked like a homage to cotton candy.'

Moments earlier, Sara Haines reprimanded Ana as she praised her good friend Eva Longoria's black dress and joked: 'I don't know where she got them t**ties coz I know her and she doesn't have... I don't know how that happened!'

Sara, 46, quickly butted in and informed her: 'I'm not sure you can say that...' as Sunny added: 'Can you say that on TV?' to which Sara replied: 'Nope!' while Alyssa Faraha Griffin giggled at the exchange.

Whoopi didn't appear to be interested in the fashion chat, but she was keen to have her say about Robert, 58, who won the Best Supporting Actor award for his role as Lewis Strauss in Oppenheimer - which scooped a total of seven awards on the night.

'I would just like to say to Robert Downey Jr., it's about damn time. It's about damn time!' Whoopi announced as the live studio audience applauded her comment.

'He's one of those actors who should have had, in my opinion, should have had multiple of these already, but you know that's the beauty and the enraging part of the Oscars. People vote, and this is who they voted for, and I have to say I am so thrilled for him and Miss Randolph as well,  it was wonderful to see her win.'

When Ana commented: 'Her speech was so poignant and so beautiful, it had me tearing up,' Whoopi admitted: 'I missed it all but I have been rooting for her for a while and also for...' as the Oscars music suddenly started to play.

'Oh they're playing you off, Whoopi! You're gonna play the EGOT off talking about the Oscars? Okay!' Sunny blurted out, referring to Whoopi's success in winning an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony Award.

'Well, here's the deal, I'm not going! I'm going to make sure I finish my sentence,' Whoopi said in all seriousness as Brian tried to lighten the mood and grinned at her off camera.

'I have been waiting for this for Robert Downey Jr. for as long as I've known him, and I've worked with him, and he's one of the great journeyman actors on the planet,' she added before The View cut to a commercial break.

Viewers tuning in at home thought it was hilarious and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment on the hilarious moment.
