Against a backdrop resembling a dimly lit back alley adorned with blazing garbage cans and a dumpster, she delivered her song cloaked in shadows.
As cameras shifted, they captured a woman in the audience skillfully wielding a sword, demonstrating her samurai expertise atop a table where Phoebe Bridgers and Victoria Monét were seated.
This woman later joined a group of dancers on stage, seamlessly integrating into the Quentin Tarantino-inspired performance of Kill Bill by SZA.
Amid the energetic routine, SZA shed her jacket and actively participated in the choreography.
Before the main broadcast, SZA clinched the Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Ghost in the Machine, featuring Phoebe Bridgers.
