I'm A Celebrity's Sam Thompson reunites with Tony Bellew and says the pair are 'bonded for life' as he jokes: 'You can never get rid of me'

Their unlikely friendship captured the nation during their appearance on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out. 

And it seems Sam Thompson and Tony Bellew's friendship is still going strong, as the 2023 King of the Jungle took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a snap of the pair. 

Last week the duo reunited on a night out in Liverpool alongside Sam's best friend Pete Wicks, and Sam has decided the snaps were worthy of a dedicated post as he gushed about his new friend. 

Sharing a snap with his arms wrapped around the champion boxer, 41, Sam wrote: 'You can never get rid of me @tonybellew we’re bonded for life!'

Referencing Tony's hilarious jungle nickname, Teddy T, he continued: 'love you and miss you❤️ Teddy T'. 

During their time in the jungle, Tony sometimes seemed rather overwhelmed by Sam's displays of affection, and it looked as though Sam's hugs are still catching the sports star off guard. 

In the second snap, Sam grabbed a startled Tony from behind as he went in for another hug, grinning from ear to ear. 

The iconic pair dominated this year's show, with Sam taking the crown and Tony finishing right behind him in second place. 

Fans were overjoyed to see the duo back together again as they took to the comments to share their love.

One wrote: 'These two were my favs this year in celebrity jungle and there friendship on the show was just fab x'.

Another wrote: 'It is so lovely to see such a close friendship between you both' and a third added: 'such a cute duo'. 

Another suggested: 'Can u imagine Tony, Pete and Sam . what a trio', while another concerned fan asked: 'Where's Pete'. 

Another joked: 'So funny, Marvin must be getting jealous x'. 

When the pair reunited at the end of 2023, they looked to be in great spirits together as they returned to their usual banter. 

Arriving at the party with his best pal Pete, Sam smiled as he snuck up on Tony, who was working the room.

Tony turned round to find Sam behind him, and then he wrapped his arm around him, saying: 'Some things never f****** change do they?'

Sam shouted, 'Tony Bellew! Tony Bellew!' while Tony licked his finger and stuck it in Sam's ear.

After leaving the jungle Tony joked that he had adopted Sam as his fifth son. 

Enjoying a day with his family at the beach before flying home from Australia back to the UK, Tony caught up with his four sons Corey, 18, Cobey, 15, Carter, 11, and Carson, three.

He was also joined by his campmates Sam, Marvin Humes and Pete as they soaked up the sun. 

Beaming alongside his children, Tony carried a smiley Sam on his shoulders as he captioned the picture: 'So my 4 kids turned into 5 on our day off after the jungle!! Lovely day spent with good people!!' 

He joked: '@marvinhumes @p_wicks and myself all on parenting duty for @samthompsonuk'.
