Jessica Rowe hits back at body-shamers who called her 'bony and stringy' and compared her body to that of an '80-year-old dude'

Jessica Rowe is fed up with people giving 'unsolicited' comments on her body.

The former Studio 10 host, 52, recently enjoyed a sun-soaked day at the beach with her family where she was snapped by paparazzi showing off a $299 bikini.

Despite looking gorgeous in the flattering frock, the television presenter suffered a barrage of vile hate comments about her body which she addressed on her podcast.

Speaking on the Jess Rowe Big Talk Show on Thursday, she shared the cruel words which 'hurt her feelings' - and they were not for the faint hearted.

'Why do old women cut their hair short? It is unattractive and very manly looking,' someone wrote.

'She looks like an 80-year-old dude,' another commented.

One added: 'I think when you get to that age, it is best not to display your body publicly.'

Someone else commented, 'She has zero sex appeal,' and: 'Far too thin!'

One wrote, 'She could do with a feed,' while someone else shared: 'Thin, bony and stringy muscle, not appealing at all.'

After the comments were read in a voice over, Jess said she didn't know whether to 'laugh or cry' because she was so shocked at how 'awful' and 'cruel' people can be.

'I don't understand what is in people who think that is okay to do. I'm a grown-up, but that hurts, and that isn't okay to give unsolicited commentary on someone's body,' she pointed out.

She went on to say while she was 'comfortable in my skin' and loves who she is as a person, she was still 'hurt' by nasty comments just like everyone else.

In 2019, Jessica revealed some of her body secrets and said she doesn't believe in 'extreme' dieting.

'Trying to be super healthy all the time or eating too much rubbish all the time will never work long-term,' Jess told Body and Soul, adding it's better to meet in the 'middle'.

The former Studio Ten host, instead, said she tries to eat healthily for the majority of the time, but still believes in indulging in sugary chocolate.

'I eat well most of the time, but I also love a bit of chocolate in bed at night,' she said.

Far from feeling guilty, Jess said she enjoys her indulgences.

'If I don't let myself have chocolate, I feel like I'm depriving myself and then I eat too much,' she said.

Jessica explained she was raised on fresh fruit and vegetables, but her parents often let their children eat chocolate biscuits.

She previously also credited her fit figure to Pilates.
