The real-life Bluey landmarks luring tourists to Brisbane: 'She's a homegrown superstar'

Children's TV phenomenon Bluey is inadvertently helping Brisbane tourism.

The iconic children's series about an animated Blue Heeler puppy and her family has showcased some of the city's most iconic locations. 

Now fans across the globe are flocking to the River City to get a peek at places featured on the show, reported The Courier Mail on Wednesday. 

Broadcasted in more than 60 countries, areas such as South Bank, New Farm Park, and the city's CBD have attracted more tourist interest since appearing on Bluey. 

A spokesperson from the Brisbane Airport wasn't surprised by the influx of tourists interested in the cartoon pooch.

'Not since Lassie has there been a celebrity canine with so much pulling power. Interest is off the leash, and a Bluey tour won't cost you a bone,' they said.

'From places at Paddington, Ashgrove, South Bank, New Farm and The Glasshouse Mountains, there are so many locations to explore.'

Meanwhile, Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner, whose children are a fan of Bluey, called the character a 'homegrown superstar who is showcasing our beautiful city, culture and outdoor lifestyle'.

'The show is a massive drawcard to attract families and fans eager to visit Bluey's hometown and explore some of the locations featured on the show,' he added.

'From South Bank and The Powerhouse to our wonderful parks and nature reserves.' 

It comes after an Aussie mum recently shocked Bluey fans after pointing out a hidden detail in the show's opening credits.

The woman, named Amelia, shared a video of the show's well-known intro, and revealed Bluey's family is playing a game of musical statues.
