Abbie Chatfield's dating show FBoy Island faces backlash for not including plus-size women in the cast: 'No body diversity… so sad'

The Abbie Chatfield-hosted dating show FBoy Island has been criticised for its lack of 'body diversity' after the female cast members were announced on Wednesday.

Chatfield, 27, who is known for her progressive views and opposition to 'diet culture', praised the 'incredible women' taking part in the Binge series - Ziara, Sophie and Molly - in a post shared with her 450,000 Instagram followers.

But some of her fans noted there was no size diversity among the three women, saying it was 'so sad' to see a total absence of 'plus-size' talent.

'No body diversity... so sad, babe,' one person commented.

Chatfield, a former Bachelor contestant, soon responded by saying she agreed there should be better representation on the matchmaking show.

In another blow for Chatfield, her new dating show FBoy Island was criticised this week for its lack of 'body diversity' after the female cast members were announced

'Unfortunately I don't control casting in any way, but your comment shows producers of all shows that having body diversity is wanted by the public so I appreciate the comment,' she wrote.

Chatfield found herself in the hosting chair for the new 10-part series which will follow three ladies as they attempt to find love out of 24 suitors.

However, the twist is that half of the men are time-wasting 'f**k boys' and the other half are genuinely looking for love.

Among those looking for love are DJ Sophie Blackley, occupational therapist Molly O'Halloran, and model Ziara Rae.

At just 21, Ziara is the youngest of the ladies taking part in the series.

'I didn't expect it to be this full-on,' she told The Daily Telegraph.

Some fans noted there was no size diversity among the women, saying it was 'so sad' to see a lack of 'plus-size' talent. Chatfield agreed, but said 'I don't control casting in any way'

Melbourne-based Molly, 26, signed up after the brutal end of her engagement.

'I had my heart broken by the ultimate Fboy and had pretty much planned my whole life around that and everything got flipped on its head,' she said.

Sophie, from New Zealand, said she was on the island to 'find a connection'.

'You have got to let your guard down to actually feel the authenticity, otherwise it is not true so you've got to follow your gut,' she said.
