Byron Bay Bluesfest kicks off to roaring crowds as the stages see incredible performances from Nikki Hill, The Brothers Landreth and St Paul and The Broken Bones

The annual Bluesfest at Byron Bay kicked off on Thursday for the Easter long weekend.

Sensational acts took over the seven stages as beaming eventgoers flocked to the grounds to watch their favourite performers.

American blues singer Nikki Hill stole the show as she belted out her best tunes to a cheering crowd.

Garbed in a groovy red and white long-sleeved shirt tucked into black jeans, the North Carolina-born artist worked the stage to her advantage.

A bold red lip accentuated her ageless beauty as she sang her heart out, clearly in her element on Australia's east coast.

Elsewhere, The Brothers Landreth brought in some Canadian alternative country and folk music to shake things up.

Brothers Joey and David, the founders of the group, were front and centre wearing matching white button ups and black jeans.

The musical duo hid their eyes behind sunglasses as they played their guitars and shared the vocal duties for the night.

St Paul and The Broken Bones also flew in from the U.S to play Down Under.

The eight-piece soul band, from Birmingham, Alabama, drew one of the larger crowds of the night with hundreds of fans packed beneath their tent.

All members of the musical group were present, including front liner Paul Janeway who donned an all black outfit and a black hat as he led the vocals.

Browan Lollar played to his strengths with a guitar in hand, with Jesse Phillips, Kevin Leon, Al Gamble, Allen Branstetter, Amari Ansari, and Chad Fisher all on stage too.
