Eddie Murphy, 61, looks youthful dressed as Axel Foley on the set of Beverly Hills Cop 4 in Los Angeles

Eddie Murphy was seen filming Beverly Hills Cop 4 in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The actor was reprising his role as Detective Axel Foley for the final installment of the franchise.

Murphy was dressed in his character’s favorite Detroit Lions NFL varsity jacket on the Los Angeles set Tuesday. The Coming to America actor wore a bright yellow T-shirt, jeans, and white shoes on the bustling set.

Murphy has been joined on-set recently by two more power players who have been added to the cast, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Taylour Paige.

Last week Murphy worked alongside Paige as they filmed a scene in a red BMW convertible. 

The talented beauty is known for her roles in Zola, Sharp Stick, and the late Chadwick Boseman's final movie, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

Gordon-Levitt recently gained acclaim for his roles in Super Pumped and The Trial of the Chicago 7 making the 41-year-old actor one of the most in-demand actors.

Paul Riser who played Detective Jeffrey Friedman in the second installment of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise was also spotted on the set last month.

The 66-year-old Mad About You star has participated in a few reboots in his latter years and is expected to make a strong comeback in this film.

Elsewhere Judge Reinhold and John Ashton are expected to reprise their respective roles as Detective William 'Billy' Rosewood and Sergeant John Taggart. 

The original Beverly Hills Cop was released in 1984 and helped launched Murphy's career and introduced the story of a Detroit cop who finds himself investigating major cases in Los Angeles.

In 1987, Beverly Hills Cop II hit the screen and followed the comedic Detective back to California to help his old colleagues Rosewood and Taggart investigate the shooting of Captain Bogomi.

In the 1994 Beverly Hills Cop III plot, while investigating a car theft ring, Detective Foley came across the same men who killed his boss ran a counterfeit money ring out of a theme park in Los Angeles. 

In the new sequel, Axel Foley continues the story of a Detroit cop who finds himself in Beverly Hills navigating his investigation through dramatic cases.

The project is being helmed by Mark Molloy and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman.

Earlier this week, Murphy reportedly agreed to pay his former partner, Spice Girl Melanie Brown US$35,000 each month for child support for their 15-year-old daughter, Angel Iris.

The comedian and Mel shared a romance in November 2007. Murphy originally claimed he did not know who the father was, but Brown’s representatives later said that paternity tests confirmed he was the father.
