Australian stand-up comedian Jim Jefferies has called on comedians to boycott the Oscars, after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on stage at Sunday's awards ceremony.
Jim, 45, took to his Instagram Stories after the moment aired across the globe, suggesting that actors should 'host their own show' after the way Chris was treated.
Chris, 57, appeared to have made a joke about Will's wife Jada Pinkett Smith suffering from alopecia, when the actor took offence.

'All comedians should boycott hosting the Oscars! They don't give us even an award for best comedy!' Jim posted online.
'Let these f***ing actors host their own show after the way they just treated Chris. We are just the help to them.'
Will, 53, stunned the star-studded audience and movie fans alike when he walked onto the stage and smacked Chris, who was presenting the award for Best Documentary.

As Will turned and made his way back down to his seat in the front row, a shell-shocked Chris told the audience: 'Oh wow. Will Smith just smacked the s**t out of me.'

After sitting down again, a furious Will warned Chris to 'keep my wife's name out your f**king mouth,' as the audience sat in stunned silence.
Will later returned to the stage to accept the award for Best Actor for his role in King Richard, in which he portrayed Venus and Serena Williams' father.
The tearful actor apologised for his earlier behaviour without directly addressing Chris in his acceptance speech.
'I want to apologise to the Academy. I want to apologise to all my fellow nominees. This is a beautiful moment and I'm not crying for winning an award,' he began.

'I know to do what we do, you got to be able to take abuse. You got to be able to have people talk crazy about you.
'In this business you got to be able to have people disrespecting you. And you got to smile and you got to pretend like that's okay.'
