  • Two Aussie basketball stars have been told they're going to Paris
  • Brian Goorjian broke the news to Jack McVeigh and Will Magnay
  • Magnay's reaction has won praise from basketball fans

Jack McVeigh and Will Magnay were involved in the conversation all athletes dream of, with the pair told they will be representing Australia at the Olympic Games.

The Tasmania Jack Jumpers teammates were told by Boomers coach Brian Goorjian that they have been selected as part of the men's team for Paris this month, with their reactions widely shared on social media.

Small forward McVeigh, 28, was visibly stoked by his inclusion in the squad, at one point being told by Goorjian to 'relax'.

But it was Magnay's immediate response that won him praise among fans, asking Goorgian 'did Jack make it?'

When informed that his good mate has also got a seat on the plane to France, he was delighted.

'F***ing let's go!' he exclaimed.

Goorjian heaped praise on both players, telling McVeigh he is a 'self-made man' and admitting to Magnay that he was always part of his plans from the very first training session.

Fans took to X - formerly known as Twitter - to praise Magnay for looking out for his mate McVeigh.
