Footy fan handed lengthy ban after abhorrent social media slurs aimed at former NRL star Andrew Fifita

  • NSWRL this week issued a 20-year ban to Justin Bayley
  • Footy fan racially abused ex-NRL star Andrew Fifita on Instagram
  • Fifita is playing for Woy Woy Roosters on NSW Central Coast

A footy fan who racially abused ex-NRL star Andrew Fifita has been banned from the sport for 20 years.

Justin Bayley was handed the suspension from the NSWRL integrity unit this week after he was found guilty of targeting the Cronulla Sharks premiership winner on Instagram.

Fifita, 35, is captain-coach of the Woy Woy Roosters' park footy team on the NSW Central Coast.

Among the abhorrent messages included Bayley labelling Fifita a 'fat, old, lazy, weak, black, putrid a** dog', a c***', and a 'monkey'.

Bayley also reportedly challenged Fifita to a fight.

According to News Corp, a NSWRL statement read: 'Chief executive David Trodden said the racial vilification received by True Blue and Woy Woy coach Andrew Fifita was disgusting.

'The NSWRL treats such matters very seriously which is reflected in the fact the person responsible has received a 20-year suspension.

'Justin Bayley has been suspended from all facets of rugby league for 20 years after being found guilty of code of conduct breaches including racial vilification against Fifita following a Rugby League Central Coast first grade match between Woy Woy Roosters and Wyong Roos at Woy Woy Oval on Sunday, 9 June.'

Bayley's son Chaice plays five-eighth for rival club Wyong.

Earlier this week, Fifita was forced to delete a polarising social media post after he accused two NSW Central Coast footy clubs of being racist.

The decorated front-rower claimed on Instagram the Terrigal Sharks and Erina Eagles were 'supporting racism' by forfeiting recent games against Woy Woy.

Fifita was ordered by to delete the post after the NSWRL and Rugby League Central Coast board pointed to the code's policies and procedures edict.

It is understood Terrigal and Erina wouldn't play Woy Woy as they had concerns about the safety of their fans.

Woy Woy maintain their players and fans have been racially abused by rival supporters this season.

Last weekend Fifita and his teammates lined up against the Dora Creek Swampies - and pre-game the Roosters took a knee following claims they have been racially targeted.
