Apple TV has released a teaser trailer for its upcoming documentary on the New England Patriots, which appears to lift the lid on the rocky relationship between Tom Brady and Bill Belichick

Directed by Emmy-winning filmmaker Matthew Hamachek, the 10-part behind-the-scenes docuseries - titled 'The Dynasty: New England Patriots' - will showcase the team's reign as one of the most dominant sports organizations of the 21st century.

It will also take a look back at the fall of that very same dynasty, shedding light on 'the internal strife that sparked a turf war' before Brady eventually waved goodbye to New England after 19 years.

The docuseries is set to be released on February 16.

In the short teaser trailer, Patriots owner Robert Kraft discusses the breakdown in Brady and Belichick's relationship, which played a part in the seven-time Super Bowl champion ultimately leaving the organization.

'These are the two titanic figures of the franchise,' Kraft says as Brady and Belichick appear on the screen. 'But they are two alphas. A collision was inevitable.

'We were coming near the end, and I was just trying to hold it together the best I could.'

The highly-anticipated documentary is based on the critically-acclaimed New York Times bestselling book by author Jeff Benedict and will provide unprecedented access inside the Patriots organization with past and present players, coaches and executives.

It is set to explore the journey that led to six Super Bowl victories, with never-before-seen video footage and interviews providing an insider's look into New England's dominant sports dynasty.

Brady played an integral part in the team's stranglehold on the Super Bowl throughout the early 21st century, collecting five Super Bowl MVPs as the Patriots prevailed on six separate occasions.

The legendary quarterback was also named the NFL's MVP on three occasions during his time in New England.

Despite the new Apple TV docuseries touching on his 'collision' with Belichick, Brady recently claimed to have a 'great' relationship with his former coach.

'He very much trusted what I was out there doing in the field, and it went both ways,' the 46-year-old told ESPN. 'Ultimately our success was because so many people in the organization, as coach Belichick always said, "Do your job," and I did as quarterback and leader.

Brady went on to add that Belichick was 'one of the first people to text me after we won the Super Bowl in Tampa.'
