Magic Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson are spotted vacationing in Saint-Tropez as Lakers great chitchats with fans while Hollywood legend sneaks off with some gelato

Samuel L. Jackson does commercials with Charles Barkley and considers Michael Jordan among his close friends, so it’s no surprise to see 75-year-old Hollywood icon vacationing with Magic Johnson in coastal French town of Saint-Tropez.

At 6-foot-9, and without any hat or sunglasses, the 65-year-old Johnson was easily identifiable to passerby, but Jackson was somewhat more inconspicuous.

Sporting a bucket hat and sunglasses, Jackson was able to enjoy some gelato by himself on a bench at one point, while Johnson – an international celebrity going on four decades now – greeted fans inside the gelataria.

One lucky group of boys was seen spending a few minutes with Johnson, who bumped fists with one of the children on his way out the door.

But unlike the United States, where Johnson is reliably swarmed by fans and admirers, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar and his Hollywood friend appeared to go unnoticed in Saint-Tropez, more or less.

Jackson and Johnson have actually been vacationing together since the month began. The two were scene with Cedric the Entertainer aboard a luxury yacht off the coast of Ibiza on July 4.

Johnson shared photos of the trip on his Instagram late Thursday with the caption: 'A great day celebrating the Fourth of July with our friends overseas!'

Johnson also posted a video of the yacht's staff dancing in front of them and behind a table set for the eight in the middle of the ship. A final photo of just Johnson and wife Cookie completed the post.

While Jackson is known to stick to acting, Johnson continues to spread his wings in retirement.

In addition to briefly hosting his own late-night talk show, Johnson launched a chain of movie theaters and later bought into several pro sports franchises, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles FC, the Los Angeles Sparks, and the Washington Commanders.

Johnson and Cookie have two children together (32-year-old EJ and 29-year-old daughter, Elisa), while he also has another son, 43-year-old Andre, from a previous relationship.

Jackson, meanwhile, has been married to wife LaTanya Richardson since 1980. The couple has a daughter named Zoe, who turned 42 in March.
