France midfielder Adrien Rabiot has admitted that team-mate Kylian Mbappe is having a 'rough' time at Euro 2024.

Despite his status as one of the standout players in world football, Mbappe has scored just once in four appearances at the tournament so far - a penalty against Poland.

Mbappe's cause hasn't been helped by the broken nose that he suffered in France's opening group game against Austria, which has meant that the forward has had to wear a mask in subsequent matches.

Antoine Griezmann, another of the most prominent names in the France side, has also struggled to make an impact in Germany despite his vast experience.

There have been suggestions that the 33-year-old could be dropped from the starting lineup for the semi-final against Spain on Tuesday.

Rabiot says that the rest of the France team will give their full support to Mbappe and Griezmann.

As reported by The Mirror, Rabiot said: 'This is a team game and even if they are having some troubles, we have reached the semi final. Team spirit is important and winning as a team is more important than individuals.

'For Kylian and Antoine, maybe their legs aren't as fresh as they could be, but we are 100% behind them. We have blind faith in them. They are players can change a game at any point. When we have the captain [Mbappé] or Antoine experiencing a rough patch, it's fine, we are there to support them.'

Rabiot admitted that Mbappe and Griezmann's struggles have impacted the team.

Griezmann has yet to score or provide an assist in his five appearances at Euro 2024 so far.

Rabiot said: 'But obviously it would be easier if Kylian and Antoine were at the top of their game, which has not been the case so far. I think everyone is surprised because we know what he [Griezmann] is capable of.

'We saw what he did at the last World Cup, when he was possibly at his peak. I don't know how to explain this spell, maybe physically he is not doing as well. Obviously we have [high] expectations with Antoine, we expect a lot more from him because he is capable of giving a lot more. But are we able to win without a great Antoine? We have a high level team.'

France overcame Portugal on penalties in the quarter-finals but know that they will probably have to be at their best to get the better of a talented Spain team.

Rabiot will be hoping to return to the France starting lineup against Spain after missing the clash with Portugal through suspension.
