Ahead of their quarter-final clash at Euro 2024, England's stars sat down to offer advice to their young selves in a heartwarming video.

The Three Lions will take on Switzerland in the final eight of the competition, after a dramatic 2-1 win in extra-time against Slovakia last Sunday.

There's growing pressure on Gareth Southgate's side after an underwhelming display in the group stage and, as expectations rise, the players have sat down to address their younger selves.

In a sit-down with the BBC, the likes of Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Gareth Southgate and Kobbie Mainoo all sat down for the touching video.

When asked what he'd tell his younger self, England captain Kane said: 'Enjoy playing football because it's the best.

'To think that I'm England captain now, captain at another major tournament, it would have been beyond my wildest dreams when I was there [Ridgeway Rovers].

'Hopefully I can have a big trophy like that but looking like the Euros instead'.

Meanwhile, manager Gareth Southgate said: 'I've managed to find a path and overcome lots of hurdles, which anybody who has a career of any worth in football is going to have to do. So, I'd say try and enjoy it as much as you can'.

Man United starlet Kobbie Mainoo, who became the third-youngest player to start for the England men's team at the knockout stage of a major tournament, said: 'Keep kicking that football! Keep enjoying it and listen to mum and dad'.

Arsenal's Bukayo Saka said: 'I'd say keep dreaming, keep believing and keep working for those things in that order.'

The only goalkeeper to take part, Jordan Pickford, told his younger self: 'For me, I always enjoyed it.

'So I would say to myself, like I would say to my son, just enjoy playing the football. Learn as much as you can. Don't be scared of the ball and just go out there and have a good time.'

Finally, centre-back Marc Guehi - who is ruled out of the Switzerland clash due to suspension - said: 'Keep doing what you're doing, you'll be fine. You'll be okay. Just one step at a time.'

A victory would take England into the semi-finals where they'd meet either Turkey or Netherlands - two sides that Gareth Southgate's team would be expected to be beat.
