France remain on course to compete for the Euro 2024 title, but they have been far from convincing so far in their run to the quarter-finals.

One reason for their struggles has been the lack of input from forward and captain Kylian Mbappe, who has scored just one goal in the tournament so far, which came from the penalty spot.

Mbappe had been expected to lead his side's charge at the competition, but has been relatively quiet, which has led to questions on the latest episode of It's All Kicking Off! over whether he is as good as it was hoped he would become.

Podcast co-host Ian Ladyman has compared the forward to England's Jude Bellingham in terms of the impact he has on his side, insisting that he played better when he was a 'road runner' at the 2022 World Cup.

The now-25-year-old was once dubbed to become one of the best players ever, but Ladyman and Mail Sport's Craig Hope have debated whether he has turned out to be as good as it was hoped he would be.

Having joined Real Madrid, Mbappe will now get the chance to perform in the best team in the world on the back of what has been a disappointing Euros campaign.
