ITV have confirmed that a Premier League icon will join their punditry team for their Euro 2024 coverage.

Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl had been part of ITV's coverage of the tournament but had to leave his role early due to his work commitments.

The new pundit will be in place for the last-16 clash between Spain and Georgia on Sunday night. 


ITV are also covering England's clash against Slovakia. 

Other pundits that have worked for ITV during the tournament include Ian Wright, Ange Postecoglou, Roy Keane, Graeme Souness, Ange Postecoglou and Eni Aluko.

ITV have now revealed that Gaizka Mendieta will be part of their coverage in Germany.

Former Spain international Mendieta initially played for Middlesbrough on loan in the 2003-04 season before making the move permanent and he remained at the club until 2008.

Mendieta also played for Barcelona, Lazio and Valencia.

Since retiring he has also worked as a pundit for Sky Sports' coverage of Spanish football.

Mendieta should be able to provide a detailed insight into the Spanish team as Luis de la Fuente's side look to enjoy a lengthy run at the tournament.
