Kyle Walker has been appointed England vice captain for Euro 2024.
The Manchester City star replaces Jordan Henderson, who was left of the squad for the tournament.
Walker, who has captained England previously in the absence of full time skipper Harry Kane, was revealed to be part of Gareth Southgate’s unofficial leadership group by Mail Sport earlier this week.
And we can now confirm the defender as Kane’s deputy here in Germany.
In October, Walker captained the national team for the first time, taking the armband with Kane named on the bench for a 1-1 draw with North Macedonia.

At 34, Walker is the oldest member of Southgate's 26-man squad, having made his international debut in a 1-0 victory over Spain in November 2011 during Fabio Capello's reign.
After Ilkay Gundogan departed Manchester City last summer, the former Spurs star was named as part of a five-man leadership group in Pep Guardiola's side.
Kevin De Bruyne took the armband for their Premier League opener, but after a long-term injury ruled the Belgian out for much of the campaign Walker took the mantle, leading them to a historic fourth-consecutive league title last month.
