The walk to the pitch

It's all feeling very real now, isn't it?

The Allianz Arena has been kitted out in Euros-themed decoration and is ready to play host to the opener.

For some, it is a ground they are all too familiar with. For others, playing there may once have been a mere dream.

Here's the view of the tunnel where the players will walk out to kick off.

16:10

The tunes continue to roll

It's the Scotland classic of 'Yes sir, I can boogie' in Munich now.

Euro 2024 is the second Euros in a row the Scots have qualified for now. It's not like this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience or anything, but fans are certainly making the most of it.

16:03

Souness pays tribute to Hansen

One of the biggest icons in Scottish football has paid tribute to another this afternoon.

On Mail+, Mail Sport columnist Graeme Souness has penned a few words on his friend and former team-mate Alan Hansen, who, again, is fighting in hospital,

He will be in the toughts of all Scots as they kick off their Euro 2024 campaign tonight.

15:55

Who will be the biggest star on show?

A number of top players will be featuring tonight. For both sides - justice for Scott McTominay - but the Germans in particular are sure to put out a star-studded line-up.

I'm not sure who I should be getting most excited about seeing. Florian Wirtz? Jamal Musiala? Who can forget Toni Kroos.

I wonder if Germany have the star power to go all the way.

Scenes at the Olympic Park

Scotland fans are making themselves heard in at the Olympic Park fan zone in Munich with three hours still to go until kick-off.

Despite the tournament being in Germany, the Scotland fans are dominating proceedings in the city. 25,000 fans are present.

The headwear competition runs on

Lewis Browning here by the way, taking over from Dom. I'm just catching up with some of his content today and I'm seeing he's been running a headwear competition of sorts? As you do.

I've been looking through some of the images coming out of Munich and thought I'd throw my own two pence in.

Feast your eyes on some of these efforts...

A kitchen head-to-head

We've all heard of the 'Footy Scran' page on X by now.

The first pictures from Munich are yet to arrive but the account seems set to put some of the best dishes each naton has to offer against each other.

Round one is a spicy steak sandwich from Union Berling against steak and black pudding pie at Abroath. Spoiler, Germany are ahead right now in the poll below the post.

I wonder what's for dinner...

15:15

The night before

As we've been saying, Scots are absolutely everywhere in Munich ahead of tonight.

Some of them have been in town for a while and have pretty much taken of the city. There was a pre-tournament party of sorts last night on the streets, and I can't imagine many fans got too much sleep last night...

How they'd love for this to become the norm.

15:09

Tributes to a Scottish legend

Scotland are fully focused on the task at hand tonight, but a dampner has been the health of one of its footballing legends, Alan Hansen.

One of Hansen's former sides, Liverpool, revealed on Sunday that the 69-year-old was seriously ill in hospital, and that's the last we heard in terms of official updates.

Scotland's assistant, John Carver, paid tribute to Hansen in the built-up to his side's opening gam tonight:

I would just like to pass a message on to say that everybody, the players, the staff, everybody connected with the SFA, are really thinking about himself [Hansen] and his family because it is an extremely difficult time.
The biggest thing that I noticed was that he was a fantastic defender but he was a ball-playing centre-half. He was probably one of the first that I can remember seeing play.

14:53

Marienplatz CLOSES after 70,000 descend

We brought you the news earlier straight from Munich that the city were asking people to move throughout the city, rather than bunch up in Marienplatz.

Mail Sport's John McGarry is also reporting that supporters being told to avoid the Olympic Park fan zone as well.

For more on the situation in Munich, check out the link below.

14:49

'We are the only Germans!'

Interestingly some very tight predictions here...

A lot of 'my heart says XX, but my head says...'

We don't want to hear that! We want full-blooded, pure and unadulterated optimism!

14:41

Some more late entries...

We've had a few more late entries into our headwear competition - and I can't believe I didn't think of Hat-Trick Heroes earlier.

Feast your eyes on these offerings - and I know what you're going to say about the first one, but I think wigs count!

(Again, if you're lost, check out 11.52am, 13.00pm and 13.20pm posts).

14:35

'We believe we can create a bit of history'

Andy Robertson has been speaking to the media ahead of tonight's clash, and has spoken about the importance of playing 'to our maximum'.

Scotland have three games inside two weeks that will prove crucial, and the Liverpool defender was quick to point out that those games can just fly by, and suddenly you've got one game left and you've already got one foot out the door.

Here's what the Scottish skipper had to say about his side's mentality on the eve of the tournament...

14:30

Striking numbers from Musiala and Wirtz

Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala are names that we'll be hearing plenty of in the next month, you feel, and you can see why.

39 goal contributions between them last term in the Bundesliga. That ain't too shabby.

Mind you, Harry Kane managed 44 on his own, but then again he is probably the best No 9 on the planet, rather than a youngster just starting to reach his potential on the continental stage.

14:26

Class touch from McTominay

Something, and I can't place my finger on it, tells me this kid supports Scotland.

He's also a big United fan judging by this sweet little interview, take a look below at why the big midfielder is his favourite...

Sun's out, guns out

It's only 20 degrees out in Munich at the moment, but looks like the visiting fans are making full use of the sun while they can.

'Suche Tickets'

AADAM PATEL: Plenty of fans walking around town with signs asking for tickets. We’ve heard they’re going for close to €1000 on the resell market.

And we’ve met plenty of Scots who have paid that much to get inside the ground tonight!

Kenny Miller reveals who Scotland's danger men are

Andy Robertson often becomes the de facto talisman of the side given his status as one of the best left backs in world football, which is fair.

But there's so much more to Scotland, and the team that put 'Oh yes sir, I can boogie' back in the charts have shown that many a time in the last five years or so.

Scotland's 69-cap former striker Kenny Miller told Paddy Power all about where he thinks the threats can come from for Steve Clarke's side.

The level that Andy Robertson has played at over the last few years has been incredible along with everything hes achieved. The left-hand side is a really strong area of our team. As strong as the midfield is, if you look at where our last four goals have come from, it’s all down that left hand side.
We’ve got [Kieran] Tierney who gets involved with Andy Robertson down the left as a left sided centre-back and then Callum McGregor who’s an excellent footballer down the wing too. John McGinn will naturally drift to that left side too so we’re really strong on that side with creating combinations and the way we attack.
It’s hard to pinpoint one standout player but I think Billy Gilmour will be really important this tournament too. When you go long spells without the ball, you need that player who can put their foot on the ball and take the sting out of the game and there’s nobody better than him in our squad at that.
Ultimately, an important player is going to be the striker, there’s no getting away from that – they’re the focal point of the team. We’re now missing Lyndon Dykes and whoever gets the nod is going to be really important to the team.
But if I had to pinpoint one player who will be the standout for Scotland, it’d be John McGinn and Scott McTominay because they’ll have to work ever so hard and also push forward and support the striker.”

A stark contrast to Germany's preparations

In stark contrast to the mayhem in Munich, the German team's preparations seem somewhat... tranguil by comparison.

Granted, you don't exactly expect Toni Kroos and Co to be necking steins in the town square, but there's an amusing disparity between the scenes.

13:43

'A proper Tartan Army takeover'

There is something so hair-raising and rousing about the Scottish anthem.

Obviously, with a lone piiper at Hampden Park it is at its most potent, but even sung by thousands of football fans a few steins deep in the heart of Munich's old town, it does get the blood going.

Aadam Patel was on hand for Mail Sport to capture the moment earlier today...

13:40

Some more new signings for the Tartan Army...

In the day job, they're used to tearing lumps out of one another.

But Scotland's politicians are uniting behind the Tartan Army in Munich today.

So far we've seen First Minister John Swinney, one of his predecessors Alex Salmond and the SNP's Stephen Flynn and Angus Robertson in Bavaria soaking up the atmosphere.

Mr Salmond has even been spotted smoking a cigar...very Carlo Ancelotti.

13:34

Fans urge to spread throughout Munich

There are now in fact so many fans flocking to Marienplatz that Munich council are asking supporters to spread elsewhere in the city due to 'overcrowding'!

Understandably, Munich will be keen to avoid any risks to public safety with too many people in one place, and so are encouraging fans to look for alternative venues to watch the game if they've got no tickets, with no public viewing taking place in Marienplatz itself.

13:28

For those of you just joining us...

For those of you who've just joined us, let's take a de-brief.

Essentially, for the last two days, Marienplatz in Munich has become New Edinburgh. Thousands and thousands of Scottish fans have taken up residence, bagpipes in hand amd truly given the first match of the Euros the build-up it deserves.

The best part is, it's all been very light-hearted, with photos arm in arm with German fans, songs about Maradona knocking England out the '86 World Cup, and above all, stein upon stein of the local delicacy.

We've had hats both horrendous and audacious, and songs for the best part of 24 hours, and we're still five-and-a-half hours away from kick-off!

We've still got plenty to come so don't you go anywhere as we build up to Germany vs Scotland tonight, and the start of what should be an awesome month of football.

Let them drink beer!

This will be music to Scottish supporters enjoying themselves in Marienplatz... the beer won't run out!

Munich's main square has been transformed into Scotoberfest ahead of tonight's match with ale-loving Scots raising steins and swigging from bottles.

And German officials have reassured visitors the party will remain in full swing with no danger the beer will run out.

Peter Inselkammer, Munich's head of economic development, told the BBC: 'Yes, there is enough beer.

'Think of Oktoberfest - that's seven million visitors with nine million litres of beer. So we are used to having guests who are very thirsty.'

More of this, please!

These are some cool shots.

Thousands of fans in one square - from both sides I might add - and none of them rolling around hitting each other or throwing anything.

Can we have some more of this over the next month, please?

All you need to know

This is fantastic.

Managers are a bit like parents sometimes - it's hard to think that they had a life before you.

Here, though, Mail Sport have compiled all you need to know on each of the 24 managers at the tournament this summer from back in the days when they were the ones taking orders, rather than dishing them out.

Can you work out who that is on the left, by the way?

13:00

Some touching go wells and good lucks

Well isn't this about the most heart-warming thing you've seen all day?

Scotland have taken with them to Germany a number of good luck messages and cards given them by the Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, which are all displayed outside meeting rooms at the team's base in Bavaria.

12:51

Scots taste victory...or is that the beer talking?

It may be the result of copious amounts of alcohol but Scottish fans are confident of victory in Munich tonight...just imagine the celebrations if they pull it off.

Mail Sport's Aadam Patel has spoken to supporters gathered in Marienplatz where the party atmosphere ahead of the tournament is well and truly under way.

John, a 38-year-old from Lanarkshire, tells us Scotland will win 2-1 - well worth the money he spent on a ticket for the match plus two days driving.

'My wife knows, it's alright! She knows I'm here and that I paid 600 Euros.'

His friend, who tells us he has slept for 18 hours, adds: 'It was the best sleep if my life, I'm now full of energy... ready to go.. 2-1 Scotland or a 0-0 draw.'

You've got to repsect the confidence.

There's a new psychic animal in town!

Fans of a certain era will remember Paul the Octopus with fondness, but there's a new psychich animal on the block.

Meet Ludwig the sausage dog - or bratwurst dog (Yes, I know it's Dachschund) - who has put in his predictions for tonight's game.

And it's not exactly great news for Scotland...

12:41

Hilarious moment a Scottish fan drops his Buckfast live on TV

We spoke about the amazing work that young Craig Ferguson has done, raising some £50,000 by walking his way to Munich from Glasgow.

What we didn't mention is his little blunder live on air with Sky News.

The 20-year-old can be forgiven for losing concentration - what with the whole walking 1,000 miles and all - as he drops his bottle of Buckfast live on air!

Take a look at this brilliant clip of the moment, as he quickly apologises to the reporter but he laughs it off and promises a few more drinks to come...

12:35

The classic pre-match BMX show...

You can't help but admire the stamina and endurance these fans have.

Kick-off isn't for another six-and-a-half hours and we've already gone from bagpipes to keepy uppies to fireworks.

Now though the Tartan Army have been treated to some BMX tricks to keep the party going!

Another esteemed guest is in town.

Here's Scotland's First Minister John Swinney deep in conversation with some fellow fans in Munich.

'Is it worth sacrificing McGinn to man-mark Musiala out of the game?'

'Absolutely not, that Musiala kid should be more worried about Super John!!'

Or something to that effect...

Scotland are 'just enjoying' the Euros

Scotland are 'just enjoying it' at the Euros, says comedian Ray Bradshaw ahead of the game.

Hard to disagree with him from the scenes in Marienplatz, Munich.

It's a great insight into the Scottish mentality at the tournament, including the obligatory parting jobe aimed at old enemies England!

Have a listen to what Ray thinks are 'the big games' for Scotland this month.

12:20

Is this the winner?

Oh hang on.

Storming in at the back past in the last minute to head home the late, late equaliser, it's these three fans who have come complete in Duke of Wellington statue-style traffic cones.

That's going to take some beating, I'll tell you now.

A very unexpected Scotland fan indeed

When I woke up this morning knowing that the Euros kicking off, I didn't think I would be watching Uri Geller talk about Taylor Swift's guitar, but here we are.

He's giving the Scots his backing, though, which I'm sure Steve Clarke and Co will be over the moon about!

Kyle Walker has been named England's official vice-captain for the competition.

The last VC was of course Jordan Henderson in Qatar, with the midfielder not called up for this squad.

Best get a move on...

On the off chance we've got any fans in Munich reading along while they're getting ready to head down to the Fan Zone, might want to get a move on.

Here's a look at the queue for the Fan Zone in Munich before the game.

Kick-off, for anyone wondering, isn't for another eight seven hours and 15 minutes...

11:42

4-4 feels... unlikely

I'm all for the drama, but 4-4 seems just a touch unlikely.

To be fair, France vs Yugoslavia in 1960 ended 4-5 so it could happen...

I'm thinking a couple of late stoppage time headers from Scott McTominay from 4-2 down.

Lovely bit of football unity here in the Marienplatz where fans of both Germany and Scotland have gathered, writes Mail Sport's AADAM PATEL who is on the ground in Munich today.

Meet Kevin, 41, from Scotland and Birger, 42, from Hamburg who met each other today.

'The Scotland fans are great,’ says Birger, who is going for a wild 4-4 prediction tonight.

‘1-0 to Scotland’ says an optimistic Kevin!

One pub 'already running empty'

It's what, half 1 in Munich?

Some reports from around the area suggest that one pub has already run out of beer!

You'd think, what with it being game day and all, that they might have taken extra atock just to be prepared... then again maybe they already did!

11:29

What an achievement!

How about this for a story.

Craig Ferguson has made the 1,000-mile trip from Glasgow to Munich ON FOOT to raise money for a male suicide prevention charity.

The charity is called Brothers In Arms, for whom Ferguson has reportedly raised some £50,000, and for his efforts the waiter from Paisley has earned himself a ticket to tonight's game from the competition's sponsors Peoples BYD.

''It’s just been a bit of adrenaline that’s carried me over the finish line,' Ferguson said. 'I’d be lying if I said that this hasn’t been the hardest thing I’ve ever done!'

For more on that extraordinary journey, check out the link below!

(And yes, we've deliberately avoided any Proclaimers jokes)

11:22

Seems ambitious...

Looks like those excited Scottish fans have got a ball out now and are attempting one of the world's longest games of keepy uppy...

Feels slightly ambitious but then again it's game day and there'll be plenty thinking that anything is possible on a day like today!

11:16

Who has the best kit at the Euros?

So, in case you've been living under a rock for the last few months, the big news is that the Euros are kicking off tonight.

And while that usually means a festival of football for the next month, including all the turmoil, jeopardy and drama that you might expect, it also means a look at the latest batch of international kits.

Germany's shirt, for example, is a retor-inspired stunner, while Slovenia have cropped up with an unsuspected entry for best at the tournament.

But who takes top spot? Check out the link to find out.

11:09

Why is there a lack of German flags in windows?

We've had plenty of talk about Scotland this morning, which is hardly a surprise given the gusto with which they've embraced matchday, or matchweek perhaps more accurately.

With the world's eyes turning to Germany this month for what is probably the biggest continental competition in international football, there is an unmistakable lack of German flags in windows, as Mail Sport's IAN HERBERT writes.

Here, he discusses in fascinating detail why Germany is currently tearing itself apart - check out the link to find out why.

11:00

Scotland could have called on Gallagher!

To think he could have had Conor Gallagher partnering him in midfield tonight too!

That's right - the Chelsea star was also eligible to play for Steve Clarke's side, only to be turned down for not being good enough!

Mind you, England also rejected him so I don't think we can make too much of the snub, but you'd think Clarke would be happy to have someone of his calibre to call upon this summer!

For more on that one, check out the link below!

10:55

'Super John McGinn!'

Ready for another song?

John McGinn is a brilliant player - he's just qualified for the Champions League with Aston Villa, after all - but better than Zinedine Zidane?

I'll let you be the judge of that...

10:52

Some stunning headwear on show

Time for a new segment, I think.

In all the excitement and optimism in Munich, it's easy to miss just what a staggering array of headwear is on show over there - I mean just look at some of those!

From the patriotic to the downright puzzling, Scotland have certainly brought the heat with their hat game this morning...

Not all been plain sailing for Scotland fans...

We saw a clip earlier on of one passenger who found themselves alone amid a sea of Scottish supporters on a plane.

The fans have been descending on Munich in their droves full of good vibes and positivity ahead of the game, but for some it's been something of an odyssey getting to Bavaria in the first place.

Take a look at this group, who braved two days and 1,500 miles in campervan just to get there in time!

10:44

Some more BTS footage from CRAIG HOPE

Time for another tour from our man on the ground, CRAIG HOPE!

This time, it's a look around Blankenhain castle, the scenic media base for England during the tournament.

Take a look at the clip below for some great behind the scenes footage - including an indoor golf putter, pool table and of course the obligaatory Xbox set-ups.

10:29

How do Scotland stop Musiala and Wirtz?

We've mentioned a few times that the odds are slightly against Scotland tonight against what is a very young, new-look German team.

But just who should Andy Robertson and Co be most wary of?

One of these two has already won the Champions League, while the other just went an entire domestic season unbeaten. Not a bad CV for two 21-year-olds now is it?

Check out the link below for more on Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz, the youngsters looking to fire Germany to glory this summer.

10:25

Eze vs Gallagher - but who comes out on top?

Back to Blankenhain, where last night the real competition took place.

That's right, the head to head battle on the baize, a one-on-one pool match between Conor Gallagher and Eberechi Eze.

We won't spoil who wins, you'll have to watch to find out, but one of those two might have a future in the Crucible ahead of them judging by their potting - some cracking shots in there.

10:17

The Tartan Army 'in full effect'

And how about this for a shot of the action?

10:14

Round two has begun

I think it's fair to say that the festivities have started up again for the day...

T-Minus seven-and-a-bit hours until kick-off - plenty of time to get ready and soak up some of the local delicacies.

The perils of wearing a kilt

Well, we've seen it all now. Literally.

Spare a thought for this German presenter trying to report from the scene in Munich ahead of the big one tonight.

It's your classic case of tv reporter meets merry fans gone wrong.

I'll not spoil it, but fair to say we've learned a few things about the perils of wearing a kilt...

10:07

One fan's had an absolute shocker

Back to Munich now, and the funny if tragic story of a Scottish fan who maybe had a little bit too much fun last night.

In all the chaos - which was all very light-hearted - they managed to break their phone!

Worse still, it had the tickets for the match tonight on it...

Link below for more on that one!

A little more on Blankenhain...

Time for German georgaphy lesson No 2!

Blankenhain is near enough slap bang in the centre of Germany, some 400km north of all the Munich mayhem, and home to a little under 7,000 people.

You'd think that that would make it pretty accessible, right? Well sort of.

England still face an eight-hour round trip for their first game against Serbia, before another six hours to Frankfurt and back to face Denmark, and 800km round trip to face Slovenia.

Fair to say they'll be clocking up the miles then.

It's not all bagpipes marching through the streets, mind you

The scenes filtering in from Munich over the last 24 hours have been a healthy mix of chaos and positive energy, with Scotland mastering the knack of making plenty of noise without crossing the line.

But it's not all bagpipes marching through the streets and singing the hokey cokey.

Take a look at Blankenhain - near England's base for the competition, as Mail Sport's CRAIG HOPE takes us on a tour of the sleepy little countryside town on the hunt for a coffee!

09:51

'Quiet' night in Munich last night...

Ok I take back what I just said - if it's anything like the noise from yesterday's march through the streets of Munich, then I'm 100 per cent down.

09:47

The bagpipes are out!

Some great shots coming in already from Munich of the fans getting back out and on their feet ahead of the big fixture.

I don't know about you, but if I had a few too many drinks the night before, the last thing I'd want to hear the next morning is bagpipes, but there you go!

Nice to see the locals getting involved as well.

09:41

Scotland are feeling the love

Not that you would miss hundreds of thousands of singing Scottish fans if you're within a 100-mile radius of Munich, but they'll be heartened to know that captain Andy Robertson has been watching the festivities!

09:35

From the hilarious to the skin-crawlingly awkward...

Well from one extreme to the other, how about this hilariously awkward clip from the Italian dressing-room?

You've got to feel for the singer, because they're not getting an awful lot back from the players who honestly look like they'd rather be anywhere else in the world.

The Azzurri - who are of course the reigning champions - are not in action until tomorrow night when they take on Albania.

09:32

Conway's already a fan favourite

He may only have one cap to his name - but Bristol City's Tommy Conway is already a firm favourite among the Tartan Army judging by this video...

What was it we were saying about the creativity of tipsy football fans?

09:30

You've got to feel for this passenger...

You can almost see the moment this passenger realises they're not going to be finishing their book on that plane...

We mentioned that an expected 200,000 or so fans are reportedly set to make their way to germany for the Euros this summer - and there were a fair few of them on this flight!

For more on that one - and the hilarious clip - you can check out the story linked below!

09:20

Take a bow, IRN-BRU

Is this the best advert of the year already? It might just be...

09:16

Show no fear!

So how then do you take on Germany, in Germany?

Show no fear, but treat the game with respect, says manager Steve Clarke.

Makes sense really doesn't it? Why go into a game scared and do half the job for your opponents before a ball is even kicked? Let's not forget, this is a Scotland side that is ranked 39th in the world, only 23 shy of Germany.

That might sound like a fair margin, but then when was the last time the gap was that short? Scotland have more than a right to be thinking 'Well hang on, they should be scared of us too!'

As Scotland boss Steve Clarke puts it: ‘We feel as though we can get a good result every time we step onto the pitch. Otherwise, what’s the point in going on there?'

For more from Clarke's press conference ahead of the game, check out the link below.

09:08

Viel Gluck, Schottland

Just how big a test are Scotland facing tonight?

Well, as we've already mentioned they've only actually beaten Germany once in 65 years, and lost eight of their 17 meetings, which isn't exactly a glowing record.

However this Germany side isn't exactly the behemoth it used to be 15 years ago.

Die Mannschaft have not actually won a knockout game since Euro 2016 - which is crazy to think about given they are almost synonymous with success in international tournaments.

That being said, driven by a number of truly talented youngsters, this side does have a slightly new feel to it that has been missing for the last few tournaments, and at 9/2 they are being backed as the third most likely to go all the way.

What are Scotland's odds of success, I hear you ask? Depends who you talk to. Some bookies have them as long as 150/1. It sounds like they will need all the 'Gluck' (luck) they can get out there.

But ask any one of those fans last night out in Munich dancing the hokey cokey, and they'll probably give them a much, much better chance of making history.

09:00

How's that for a song?

This is absolutely class.

Nothing like revelling in your rivals' demise to put you in the mood for one of the biggest games in your recent history.

Football in general gets quite a bad rep, but there's not much that beats the song-writing creativity of a slightly inebriated football fan is there?

08:56

Reports of 200,000 travelling fans!

Reports of around 200,000 Scottish fans making the trip to Germany for the Euros!

Granted, you'd think the vast majority of those might still be in bed judging by the pictures we've seen already from yesterday, but that is quite the gathering.

For context, that's more than the entire population of Aberdeen, the third largest city in the country!

08:52

Scotland are ready to 'rise'

I know it's not exactly the point of the video, but just look at the background for that training pitch that Scotland have got.

Scotland will know they come into this one as underdogs - they've only beaten Germany once since 1959 - but one thing they won't be lacking in is belief and courage.

08:45

The Scots bring colour, life and presence, writes IAN LADYMAN

For more on the fan atmosphere in Munich - and indeed the rest of the country - check out this one from IAN LADYMAN, who was on hand to watch as the German city slowly turned blue.

08:42

What a noise!

May be a few sore heads for the big game tonight, but they certainly enjoyed a bit of a sing-song on Munich’s pretty Marienplatz yesterday...

You'd be forgiven for thinking we were in Edinburgh not Munich yesterday - listen to that noise!

08:36

Party time in Munich

In stark contrast to the fears surrounding violence at England vs Serbia on Sunday, just take a look at the smiles from those Scottish fans!

Looks to have been a real party atmosphere yesterday on the streets of Munich...

08:34

How are the Tartan Army getting in the mood?

We've already dipped into the Deutsch dictionary this morning once, but now it's time for some German geography.

From Gelsenkirchen in the west to Munich in the south east - a short 650km or so - let's take a look at how the Scottish supporters have been getting in the mood for their big game tonight...

08:29

Low-alcohol beer ONLY for England vs Serbia

That particular story comes after it emerged that England's clash with Serbia is set to be the only game in the tournament to see low-alcohol beer served exclusively at the VELTINS Arena in Gelsenkirchen, amid fears of fan violence.

The German police have already clashed with Serbian fans before a ball has been kicked, while the game ahs already been declared 'high risk'.

While English fans of course have a historic reputation for hooliganism, their behaviour at recent tournaments has seen a sharp improvement.

Aside from the 599 arrests at Euro 2020, on home soil, at the last World Cup in Qatar there were zero arrests, three in Russia in 2018 and 46 at the Euros in France in 2016.

For more on that one, check out the story below from Mail Sport's MIKE KEEGAN!

08:23

German police 'encourage English fans to SMOKE CANNABIS' instead of drinking

Maybe not the story you thought you'd be reading at 9am on a Friday morning, but reports have emerged that German police are encouraging England fans to smoke cannabis rather than drink alcohol at Sunday's game against Serbia.

'It's no problem for fans to smoke cannabis on the street,' a Gelsenkirchen Police spokesman is reported to have told The Sun.

Germany joined the list of countries who have legalised cannabis for personal use earlier this year, and cultiating up to three plants for private consumption and owning up to 25 grams (0.88 oz) of cannabis has been legalised.

It is worth noting, however that smoking inside the 62,000 seater in Gelsenkirchen is prohibited.

For more on that one, check out the link below!

Guten Morgen allerseits!

Good morning - or should we say Guten Morgen?!

That's right, it's the day we've all spent what feels like years counting down to, it's the start of the Euros!

As we're all no doubt already aware, we've got the curtain-raiser tonight with three-time winners and hosts Germany taking on Steve Clarke's Scotland in Munich, kickstarting a month of footballing festivities.

So stick around as we bring you all the latest from around the tournament as we build up to the start of the highly-anticipated tournament.
