England's Euro 2024 stars have returned to their training base at St George's Park ahead of jetting out to Germany later today for this summer's tournament.

The players were given the weekend off after their disappointing 1-0 defeat by Iceland at Wembley on Friday night in their final friendly before the Euros.

But despite that setback, the players appeared in good spirits as they checked back in on Monday morning, with captain Harry Kane smiling for the cameras.

He will lead the 26-man squad chosen by Gareth Southgate last Thursday that has some notable absentees including Jack Grealish, Harry Maguire and James Maddison.

One player that will be on the plane, though, is Jude Bellingham, who has joined up with the squad after winning the Champions League with Real Madrid earlier this month.

He arrived clutching a rucksack in one hand, but teenage star Kobbie Mainoo went with a huge suitcase, and will be looking to make a similar size impact at his first major tournament.

One suitcase wasn't enough for Declan Rice, who was all smiles as he dragged along two pieces of luggage while rocking a backwards baseball cap.

His Arsenal team-mate Bukayo Saka also opted for two suitcases, while Premier League player of the year Phil Foden went with a bag in one hand and a suitcase in the other, with Kieran Trippier following suit.

The excitement is building ahead of England's Euros opener against Serbia on Sunday, and Prince William along with his son Prince Louis popped in to offer the players some last-minute advice.

The Prince of Wales was seen chatting to Southgate, and later told the squad his son had recommended 'double portions' to get the job done in Germany.

Prince Louis' advice is unlikely to be heeded as the squad aim to stay in prime condition to go all the way to the final on July 14, but this past weekend did provide them with the opportunity to put their feet up as they went home to spend time with their WAGs.

Conor Gallagher's model and dancer girlfriend Aine May Kennedy enjoyed some quality time with the Chelsea midfielder as she posted a picture of him with their dog on Instagram with the caption: 'The best weekend having you home with us. But now it's time to go,' alongside an England flag.

The squad are due to fly out this evening to their training base at the Weimarer Land Spa and Golf resort in Germany.

The five-star luxury resort has three golf courses, a Padel court and two swimming pools to ensure the players will get plenty of downtime in between matches as they look to finally bring 58 years of hurt to an end.

Special requests made by the players have also been revealed by resort owner, Matthias Grafe.

He told Bild: 'Most questions were about the air conditioning in the rooms - probably after the experience in Qatar. We had to retrofit one room.

'We also ensured that English television was broadcast via satellite in the rooms. We also blacked out the glass fronts and windows so that the notorious yellow press couldn't take pictures of the boys.'

Grafe added: 'We have 35 chefs here who prepare everything the English want based on their menu,' he continued.

'I'm sure there will be hamburgers at some point. The rooms of the players, coaches and support staff are also decorated with personal items.

'For example, we received family photos and other personal items in advance, which we then used to decorate the rooms.'
