The action doesn't end there though!

Scotland and Switzerland are set to kick off in the next 30 minutes with Steve Clarke's side out to avenge their 5-1 loss against Germany last week.

Germany the team to beat?

Despite their woes in recent years, Germany look to have clicked as a team, with Musiala, Gundogan and Kroos all dominating in midfield.

They have some work to do to improve on their finishing and quality around the box, but are certainly one of the teams to beat at this summer's tournament.

18:13

As it stands...

Germany have taken the lead at the top of Group A and are three points clear of Switzerland, who play Scotland later tonight.

Should Switzerland beat Scotland they will draw level on six points with Germany at the top of the group - with the winner set to be decided in their final group clash next week.

Hungary pay tribute to their fans

While they were ultimately out-muscled by Germany this afternoon, Hungary were brilliant and posed some real questions for Germany throughout the match.

Neuer was tested on several occasions, most notably by Szoboszlai's brilliant first-half free-kick, but despite their best efforts Hungary could not nick a goal back.

At full-time their players paid tribute to their fans, lining up[ before appearing to sing to their fans.

18:04

Germany are the first team to qualify for the knockouts

Germany were the more dominant side throughout but there were times that Nagelsmann's side did look like they could concede against Hungary, who had 11 attempts on goal during the match.

Germany though dominated possession and were the more threatening side. Had they been a touch more clinical, with Musiala and Fullkrug both coming close in the second-half, they may have won by a more commanding margin.

For Thomas Frank, speaking on BBC One, Germany looked good, but still have a bit of work to do still.

A stroll for Germany so far. By far the best of the favourites. It is not easy to roll over Scotland 5-1, then a clear 2-0 win over Hungary, it is very, very promising. But, they do need to still raise the level a bit because there will be tougher opponents along the way.
17:56

Full-time: Germany 2-0 Hungary

Germany are guaranteed to progress to the knockout stages of the tournament after they secured a 2-0 victory against Hungary on Wednesday afternoon.

Jamal Musiala scored his second goal of the tournament, and could have had a couple more, had he not struck the side netting in the first half.

Hungary threatened throughout with Varga and Orban coming close to finding the back of the net on several occasions.

Ilkay Gundogan would arrive in the second-half to wrap up a sensational team move with a brilliant finish inside the penalty area and wrap up the 2-0 win.

Germany 2-0 Hungary

Chance for Hungary! And a penalty shout goes up!

That was close for Nagelsmann's side with Neuer being left in no man's land.

A long ball comes in and Neuer can't hang on to the cross, with Adam pouncing on his mistake firing the lose ball towards the goal. But they can't find the back of the net, with Kimmich clearing off the line!

17:47

Off comes Gundogan

Man of the match perhaps? There are several Germany players you could pick, including Musiala, Kroos and Kimmich, but perhaps the Barcelona star has led from the front today.

His finish to put the hosts 2-0 was superbly taken, and would have allowed Germany to breathe a big sigh of relief, with Hungary showing how dangerous they can be.

Denis Undav will come on in his place, while Hungary have also replaced Varga for Gazdag and Sallai for Csoboth.

17:44

Germany 2-0 Hungary

Hungary aren't quite out of this yet! A cross from a corner comes in and substitute Martin Adam challenges battles with Emre Can to get his head to the ball - but the former Liverpool midfielder just edges him to the cross.

17:42

Germany 2-0 Hungary

Hungary are still having a crack at Germany here, but they can't keep possession and Germany want more goals.

In fact, their seven goal haul across their opening two fixtures is the most they've ever scored in a European Championship group stage.

Meanwhile, Kroos and Andrich's heat map shows both have been popping up all over the pitch!

17:38

Germany 2-0 Hungary

Interesting free-kick angle here for Sane. The German attacker has a shot on the goal from around 35-yards, but the ball is placed centrally ahead of the goal.

Sane winds up a long run onto the ball but sends his shot bizarrely way over the cross bar!

17:35

An excellent move from Germany

A brilliant move, wrapped up by a cool finish.

17:29

A fantastic passage of football

Slick, efficient, smart - that was a fantastic passage of play and Germany reap the rewards, with Gundogan wrapping up the passing move by swiping the ball past Gulacsi in net with his left-foot.

The Germans were patient and worked their way into the Hungary box, with Mittelstadt picking out his captain inside the box with a brilliant pass.

Germany look like they've found their second gear.

Hungary are causing some serious issues for Germany's defenders, writes RIATH AL-SAMARRAI

Interesting blueprint being drawn up here by Hungary. Out of possession they are effectively defending with two banks of five, but when they counter, they go hard and fast.

It’s caused some serious issues, especially Szoboszlai, who has a habit of charging through the middle on those late runs.

'He's got to put that away'!

Wow Hungary should be level here and Rossi cannot believe it!

Sallai whips in a stunning cross to Varga, who rises above the German defenders to get his head on the ball.

He just can't quite get the angle of his header right and agonisingly sends it wide of the goal!

Nagelsmann is looking to the bench for an injection of pace up top.

Havertz will make way for Fullkrug, while Wirtz comes off for Sane.

17:17

Germany 1-0 Hungary

Gulacsi made some excellent saves in the first half, but he's back again to keep the Germans from getting a second, making two excellent saves to deny thumping strikes from Gundogan and Kroos.

While Germany can't add another goal to their tally they are pressing Hungary right back here.

... And Musiala joins an illustrious group of players

Musiala's goals against Hungary and Scotland have seen him join a list of illustrious names from the world of football, including the likes of Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo...

17:12

It's not just Kroos who's passing has been emmaculate...

Joshua Kimmich's passing accuracy, according to Statman Dave, has been flawless in the first half.

The right back has been a creative outlet for Germany so far, working in tandemn with Musiala on the right flank.

17:10

Germany 1-0 Hungary

Hungary have come out with a lot of intent here and have a corner!

Kerkez wins a corner and Szoboszlai floats the ball in, but no one is there to get on the end of the cross!

It goes out for a Germany throw in on the far side.

Meanwhile, fans have been very impressed with how well Hungary are playing against the 2014 World Cup champions.

17:05

We're back underway!

Interesting kick-off tactic from Hungary with five players careering down the left flank.

A long ball comes over the top of the German midfield, but Hungary are unable to make good the displacement in numbers, with Germany's back line clearing the ball away.

17:04

Szoboszlai comes close

The Liverpool midfielder is leading by example today and has tested Neuer on several occasions so far in the first-half.

While they have played brilliantly, they just haven't quite been able to finish their chances, with Germany having to scramble at points to keep their opposition at bay.

17:00

Kroos is firing once again

While Musiala has been excellent, Kroos has been pulling the strings in midfield and has been sensational playing in his team-mates.

Frank Lampard, speaking to BBC Sport, hailed the retiring midfielder by calling him 'the conductor'.

It's a really good game. There was a lot to see from both sides. A lot of the ball was the in the Hungary half and Toni Kroos was the conductor as usual. Hungary have had good moments. They still have a good chance."
16:56

'He is the star man!'

Thomas Frank has lauded Jamal Musiala for his brilliant first-half, giving Germany the lead.

Musiala has been the player of the match so far, with the Brentford boss claiming he was the 'star man' on BBC's live coverage of the match.

Musiala could have had his third goal in two games, had he not struck the side netting late in the half.

The 21-year-old is the youngest player to score in a nations opening two matches at the Euros.

16:51

Half-time: Germany 1-0 Hungary

That was a rip-roaring first-half of football with Hungary taking the game to Germany.

Jamal Musiala has been a stand out alongside Toni Kroos, but some will ask questions over the Bayern forward's goal, after Ilkay Gundogan appeared to push Wili Orban inside the penalty area.

Hungary had the ball in the back of the net just before half-time, with Orban heading the ball into the back of the net from a Szoboszlai free-kick, but it was agonisingly ruled out for offside!

Germany will need to stay focused in the second-half as Hungary look ready to pounce when they get their chance.

Agony for Hungary!

Germany seemed to lose concentration there with Szoboszlai whipping in another ball into the back of the net.

Hungary get the ball into the back of the net but the referee rules the goal out for offside!

16:46

So close!

Musiala nearly had another!

Kroos delivers a sensational pass into the Bayern forward. He has acres of space and lashes his right foot through the ball firing it into the side netting.

The crowd were on their feet thinking the ball had gone in too!

Germany 1-0 Hungary

Hungary need the half-time whistle to blow here soon. As Martin Keown on BBC Sport's coverage of the match says, 'they're suffering'.

Germany 1-0 Hungary

Six corners to Germany - Nagelsmann's side are really working through the gears now.

It's Kroos to take it from the left side, and Hungary will be keen to not concede another here before half time.

It's a brilliant ball in but Varga heads the ball wide, and it comes narrowly close to going in!

Kroos fires in the resulting corner but this time, Hungary clear their lines.

He whips in a beautiful ball into the top-left corner of the goal and forces a big save from Neuer.

'It's about having a feeling of belief'

Speaking on BBC One, former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has urged Hungary to be brave against Germany.

Germany are going to squeeze Hungary and they will be made to play a lot of the game in their own half, as we saw them do to Scotland. But for Hungary it is about having a feeling of belief that you can break out from that and get up the pitch and make chances of their own. Can they get themselves up the pitch? They will need bravery to try and do that.
15:59

Germany's big test

Tonight's fixture poses a real test for Germany.

Sidepass Toni Kroos?

Toni Kroos just continues to impress. After winning the Champions League with Real Madrid earlier this summer, he is set to retire from professional football after this summer's European Championships.

And he'll no doubt be hoping to bow out with a win. With Kroos having masterminded Germany's demolition of Scotland on Friday night.

But some have surprisingly questioned his abilities over the years. Interestingly, he has earned the nickname 'Sidepass Toni', a bizarre name considering the decorated career the Real Madrid midfielder has enjoyed.

Mail Sport's Riath Al-Samarrai delves into Kroos' sensational career and why 'Sidepass Toni' is such an interesting nickname.

15:50

Hungary must play a 'perfect match', says Marco Rossi

'We've paid for these (mistakes) in the first game and tomorrow we are playing Germany which, in my opinion, is the toughest rival, toughest team to play now, but we will do our best,' Hungary boss Marco Rossi said to Reuters ahead of this afternoon's match.

'We know on paper the German team is better than us. This should further motivate us, allowing us to give our very best show.

'Hopefully we can grasp a point tomorrow and that will allow us, I hope, to qualify for the next round. But this will call for the perfect match, all those playing must give 100 per cent.'

15:47

Hungary out to win

After suffering a 3-1 victory against Switzerland in their opening Euro 2024 clash, Hungary will be keen to bounce back and could spoil the party against Germany later today.

Led by Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai, Hungary were unbeaten in qualifying, with the Reds' midfielder becoming the youngest captain in the history of a European Championship at just 23.

But if they want to qualify for the knockout stages, they will need to secure a result tonight against Germany and have a good record against the 2014 World Cup winners too.

15:43

Will Germany qualify today if they win?

The permutations of this match could have a big say in who qualifies from Group A.

If Germany win and Scotland suffer defeat by Switzerland later tonight, Nagelsmann's side will qualify for the knockout stages - but they cannot win the group until they play their final group game against Switzerland next week.

Warm ups are underway!

Germany are out warming up right now. There was initial concern in the week that Thomas Muller would not be fit to play after picking up a knock against Scotland but it appears Nagelsmann has his full squad available for this afternoon's match!

15:28

Can Germany pick up where they left off?

It's not all been plain sailing for Germany in recent years. The hosts have undergone a period of transition that began following their dismal group-stage exit from the 2022 World Cup.

The departure of former coach Hansi Flick was a huge signal that this side were looking to change things up, but after losing six of their 11 international matches in 2023, questions have been asked about where this German side has been going.

In steps Julian Nagelsmann and in many ways, he appears to have this side firing once again. In fact, Germany looked brilliant against Scotland on Friday night, scarily so.

They look to be one of the teams to beat at this summer's tournament. But tonight will be a huge test for Nagelsmann's side.

Can they pick up where they left off?

15:24

This will be a stiff test for Germany, writes RIATH AL-SAMARRAI

Mail Sport's Riath Al-Samarrai is on the ground in Stuttgart and has given his verdict on what will be a tough encounter for Germany.

'Unsurprisingly Nagelsmann has kept the same side that butchered Scotland.

'This will likely be a stiffer test assuming Hungary react to that surprising defeat against Switzerland. The key will be smothering Toni Kroos, if such a thing is possible.

'One of the observations from the Scotland win was how deep he dropped to orchestrate play, often going as far back as centre-half. Scotland gave him the space to do so and Hungary surely won’t make the mistake, though it is plainly one thing to apply the pressure, another to ruffle him.

'At 34 he remains one of the very best midfielders of the era – I find it baffling that he is retiring after this tournament.'
