- Their Saudi owners have invested over £80million on new signings in January
- Kieran Trippier, Dan Burn, Matt Targett and Chris Wood have the experience
- Bruno Guimaraes is more of a risky signing but has the potential to be exciting
- I'm confident that Newcastle now have the defensive strength to stay up

The Africa Cup of Nations reaches its conclusion on Sunday night with a mouth-watering final between Senegal and Egypt.
While Senegal beat Burkina Faso 3-1 to seal their spot in the showpiece, Egypt were pushed all the way to a penalty shoot-out by host nation Cameroon before prevailing.
So a memorable tournament will conclude with two of the favourites going head-to-head as well as Liverpool team-mates Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Sportsmail has recruited Cameroon, Chelsea and Newcastle legend Geremi as our AFCON expert and here he gives his thoughts on Newcastle's January recruitment and whether they can stay in the Premier League.
Newcastle need fighters to stay up, people that can help with team spirit and unity, which will keep them in the Premier League.
So I think they did well bringing in proven players like Kieran Trippier, Dan Burn, Chris Wood and Matt Targett. They are people who know what it takes.

They understand the league and can find their feet straight away in a relegation fight, so this is very smart recruitment.
Three of the four are defensive players which I like because you have to think about fine margins and getting draws wherever possible in a tight relegation fight.
Improving their defence was very important. If you don't concede goals, at least you can win one point at least. Then it is about taking the opportunities to score.
The signing which is most interesting is Bruno Guimaraes. It is a gamble but he is very much an exciting talent - and with the money at the club, I think they can afford one slightly risky signing given the other players are so experienced. I hope he can play a part in keeping them up.

You all know my link with Newcastle, I played two years there. It is a city with very good supporters and the club means a lot to me. Seeing them in the relegation zone makes me very, very sad.
It is amazing to play for those fans, they love their club and they don't deserve to have such a struggling team.
Now the players have to do everything for these fans to stay in the Premier League. They are such a big club that will never die and it is so important for them to stay in the top-flight.
And when they stay up, I know the new owners will bring in the big players and the big names so these fans can enjoy their football every week.
